Is it just me or are certain words highlighted on the CM, like flowers, date, sent and they all seem to be links, to other sites and such? So is this spyware even though i just my anti-spyware thing on my computer and deleted it or are other people seeing this and the mods just wanted to have some fun with the site????

Nope. This is something on your end. I suggest trying multiple programs to get rid of it. Ad-aware and Spybot are two that work well together at covering most of this kind of stuff.

It could be a program that your "sweeper" (broom?) doesn't look for.

I had that too, but when I got my anti virus program it got rid of that. I believe it was part of the Trojan virus. Now I'm just still dealing with my porn adware

kindly explain this to me now please: i come onto the CM and everything says that i already looked at it and that there are no new posts anywhere, and then i tried to post and i had to sign in and i have it set so i never have to sign in, and then i got a porn pop-up on the CM, i've never seen any kind of pop-up on the CM before, whats going on? is this all spyware related?
Posted: 7/18/2004, 1:55 pm
by Axtech
Hmm... I don't know about the pop-up - that sounds like you've got some adware (Adaware and/or Spybot should help with that).
As for the read/unread... Check your privacy settings (that is, your Cookies). In Internet Explorer, go
"Tools" -> "Internet Options" -> "Privacy"
What is it set at? Low, high, medium, medium-high, etc...?

by Rusty
its set to medium, oh well it all seems well now, i might have to download this adaware or spybot cause spysweeper is pissing me off *drop kicks computer out window*

Might as well get both Spybot and Adaware. They're a nice pair for combating that kind of junk.
