OK. After going from Spain to Ohio to backpacking throughout Europe my friends and I have decided on Toronto as our destination this summer. Okay, so we haven't, but it's the most affordable + fun so that = most likely. Ohio = affordable but no fun. Europe = fun but not affordable. anyway, I know all of you know the best things to go in Toronto, like, not touristy stuff. SO what i'm asking is for cool things to do in Toronto that a bunch of teenage girls would enjoy doing. Absolutely anything is appreciated. and yes, i did say Ohio earlier, as in, the state.

hang around queen st. there are a lot of cool little stores along the street. you can go to muchmusic and go to a taping of mod. you can also go to wonderland, but that's not so much in toronto. it's in maple, a suburb north of toronto. there's a lot of clubs and bars you can go to, if you're over 19.

check out the Horseshoe Tavern on Queen Street W(it is off Spadina) and oh course The Apartment. I know alot of Natives from T.O. will say it is overplayed, but I had agreat time there. Also the Faffel( god I know I spelled that wrong)House on John Street. Especially after going out. It is the only place open late.
I also took a ferry over to the Islands. I know you said you didn't want to do touristy things but you should(if possible) do a day trip to Niagra Falls. That is alot of fun.
Queen Street and Younge Street has lots of shops.
also if you go to Priceline you can get a decent room for $50-$60 in a nice hotel. I have gotten Sheraton, Westin, Marriot and Renissance through them. You would have to put Down Town T.O though. B&B's will be at least $90 CA.
Have fun. I love T.O.
also go to this site.
www.toronto.com for lots of other idea.YOU can even sign up for a newsletter letting you know weekly what is going on in the city.

I agree with hanging around on Queen St - lots of fun random things happen there.
I went shopping there with my friends yesterday and I got on TV twice - the first time, this guy stopped us and I got to do this ad-libbed segment with a comedian dressed up as a phony fortune teller for the show The X on CBC (that was a ton of fun... apparently it'll air early sept). As I was signing the release form for that, Ben Mulroney walked right by us. And then on the way back past the Much building we got stopped again by some VJ and he did a little interview with us about voting. Fun day

y'know, i don't understand why people here don't like howard johnson. of course i've never actually stayed at a howard johnson in canada, but i stayed at one in abu dhabi, and it was really nice.
then again abu dhabi being relatively new and fabulous all over, it could be just that.

when I went I booked it through Greyline(CA). I went on the night tour. It left Toronto at noon I think. We had dinner at the falls, went on Maid Of the Mist, went to the Minolta tower and saw the Falls illuminated. I think it was $100CA at the time(1998). All the hotels have trips for it. It is fun. I keep meaning to go back one day, but am always doing stuff in T.O
