Ok, I need to do this thing for English. I am planning on making amovie with lego, using stop motion animation (like what they do with claymation).
I have never done this before, and have no clue where to start.
Any good video editing software you can recommend? Should I use a webcam or a regular video camera?
Anyone? Anyone?

I'm pretty sure you'd want to go with a digital camera not a video camera. Thats all i can help you with though...

Agreed. But mount the camera on a tripod

Set your camera (digital) up on a tripod, and set up your first frame. Take a picture. Then, move everything slightly (the smaller the motion, the more smooth the video will be. however, you'd end up with many more frames to shift around and fiddle with. you'll have to choose a balance between smoothness and the amount of effort you want to put in) then take another picture. Do this repeatedly, uploading the pictures onto your computer (ensuring that you keep them organized in sequence). Then use a video editing program that will let you work with (and import) separate frames (I know Josh uses a good one, but I can't remember the name). Import all of the pictures as frames in your video, and adjust the framerate accordingly.
Viola!
A lot of work, but it could end up super cool in the end!

How long are you expecting to make this? Seeing as movies run at 24 frames per second, you'd be taking a lot of pictures if you wanted to end up with even 10 seconds of film.

Man, the Lego site used to have a whole page of stuff on how to make the movies, and it's gone now...
You can try this site:
