MP3 player help

I'm looking to get me an MP3 player, but I think I might be out of luck...
I want something that will hold over 2gigs (perhaps 5).
Of what I have been able to find, they all go up to 246megs, then jump up to 10gigs (iPod) or even 40gigs. However, the 10-40gig range costs at least $500 (canadian).
Is there NOTHING in that middle range?

Again, everything on there jumps both in drive space and in price, with the gap right across what I want.

get a mini disc player TRUST ME...you can fit about 40 songs on one mini disc and a pack of 11 mini discs only costs about $10. If you put lower quality on songs you can fit even more on. The players are much more durable as well. I did research on this a while back and I am happy with my Sony Minidisc player.

Also, minidisc players are way more economical. They take one double A battery, which will last you about 56 hours. I actually get around 70 with my Sony one. However, I find it a pain to carry around my 15 minidics all the time, when I could just get a hard drive player and fit them all on that. gear.ign.com do good reviews of these products. If you need to know anything, go there.

Yeah iPods are amazing. Apparently they are releasing a new colored screen version soon.

Due to my brothers laziness/stupidity, I am getting a Rio for free as soon as it comes in the mail. That'll teach him!

i have the $100 mini disc player...and just choose one disc to take around each day you dont need all 15..40 songs is plenty for me. And you just use a USB cable.

I considered a mini-disc player, but when I finally do upgrade to better convenience, I want to go all the way. No more carrying around anything extra. Just one unit with all the music my heart desires.

then when you lose all that music your heart desires and the money it cost you will regret it. That is why i went with a $100 thing instead of more then $200 but perhaps you arent as absent-minded as i
