if there is copy-protection, take a felt-tipped mark and draw a circle on the outer most track of the CD. I learn a lot living in the gamers hall.

I read that in some posts way back. Is it true? I guess it doesn't affect me because i have a special program that defies copy protection, but it's still an ingriguing idea.

So if you try to burn one of those it won't work? I've never come across that before.

I don't often copy official cds (only a few times when creating mix cds) but couldn't you just rip the cd to wav files on your computer and then burn them to a cd-r? Or do copy-protected cds guard against ripping as well?
