Thornley (aka The ex-Big Wreck singer's band..)

Anybody heard the new single "So far, So good" from Thornley yet? They signed with Chad Kroeger's 604 records and you can really hear that influence in the track. It's still pretty good IMO, but it sounds "dumbed down"

The chorus is eerily similar to Someday...

I know they played EDGEFEST last year. I was in shock cause KROCK radio in NYC played them the other day. I was like Yeah Go Canada.

ian thornley is an amazing guitarist and vocalist who never got nearly the amount of respect he deserved in big wreck, they did some amazing stuff. people may say he sold out or something like that since he seems to have strayed from the classic rock sound that wreck had, but sucess is long overdue. anyways, the cd is called 'come again' it hits shelves on may 11th. the album artwork by storm thorgerson is fantastic. the single is the #1 most added song of the week for modern rock format. not bad for a debut single from a debut act. look out kroeger, the dude with more talent is going to overtake you.

Mmmm.... Ian Thornley... I remember when Ladylike came out and I loved that guitar riff... and then I saw the video with his button-down shirt and that guitar... and then I had to go change.

*goes back to her teeny corner*

I am seeing them next Tuesday. Opening for 3 Days Grace at Starland Ballroom in NJ.

I only heard one or 2 songs. I am looking forward to the show.

As for Ian. I saw him 3 years ago at the CASBY awards. He was playing with a few other guys(don't remember their names and no it wasn't big wreck) There were a few other guys from different bands. GOD that was a cool night cause I got to see Tea Party and David Usher(even if only 2 songs each)

Is it even out in Canada yet? I thought it was. It comes out on the 11th in the USA>

I saw them last week with Three Days Grace. They were awesome. I loved it. Can't wait to see them again> I will give you the Setlist next time( I got it). They closed with OAF(which I love)

the bass player(Ken) was amazing to watch. Got to meet them before hand.( I did meet Ian a few years back at the CASBY's) SeKou was cool, as was Tavis and Ian. Actually they really dug that I heard of them and the bands they came from. What can I say? I really love alot of Canadian bands and have to thank a few people I befriended who got me or made me CD's

I do have one question? Am I the only one who thinks Ian sounds just a tad like Chris Cornel and even look like him. ?

YES ! I thought the exact same thing for a long time, he looks and sounds just like Chris. Which is a plus.

I tried buying their cd yesterday, no where in my entire city carries it. ANd i'm not paying extra to have it ordered. Hopfully they'll get it in soon.
