Why Vermont Rocks

So....maybe this doesn't deserve its own topic........maybe it does.

Vermont. Overwhelmingly voted for Dean even after he dropped out. Ha. I registered out here at school for one reason : I never have to worry about Vermont.

But, to make this more of a realistic topic.
In Vermont people really vote for who they think is best. One year we elected a Republican Governor, a Democratic president, an independant (socialist) representative, one independant and one democratic senator. I suppose I took it a little bit for granted.
What is this terrible hold on the American public that the media has? How can we break out of it, other than living in a state so rural we can't get cable?? (sorta kidding, btw...)

*cough*vermontkicksass*cough*

I have to say that I envy the fact that you were able to be connected to "The Man" Howard Dean, himself. I'm saddened that his campaign fell apart like it did, but thats how politics can tend to go.
Dean was misunderstood quite a bit, I think. Sorta like how many people think of Jessie Ventura but he's been involved in politics even for some time before he was the governor of Minnesota.

So Vermont is the only state the elects who it thinks will do the best job? I hate to think that most Americans are mindless drones that follow the media.

People will believe almost any bullshit they hear.......it'll be evident if Bush gets re-elected.

I heard something today on the radio that was like people in vermont betting on when the ice in the lake would fall through.

....that has nothing to do with anything of course but I just thought I'd mention it. :spam:

*Trying not to freak* And could you explain why?

You're trying not to freak because I'm voting for Bush? I'm not gonna freak cause you're gonna vote for whoever the hell you want to. I don't really need to get into this because all that will happen is another crusade to inform the few people here who like Bush why he sucks so much. No thanks. I still love you though ;)

Sorry, I don't want to start anything. I just strongly dislike him for obvious reasons.

If there are legitimate reasons to like him, they are not obvious to me.

um, obvious reasons? everyone has their own reasons, explain yours please.

Ya, I admit that sounded really biased. Sorry.
But here's why it 30 words or less. (I'd like to not make this bigger than I already have. Politics tear people apart.)

Bush not signing the Kyoto Treaty and Wanting to drill in Alaska, two of the many things he has done to damage the enviornment. He wants to pass a bill that prevents homosexuals the basic right of marriage. He has created the Patriot act, which allows the government basic civil liberties such right to a trial and a lawyer and freedom of speech. People have been questioned by the FBI for "unamerican comments". And while I feel that the Iraq war could have been justified, it was not in the way it was actually.

I don't wan't to go into detail and start a big thing. I'm not here to make enemies and I put my mouth before my mind. I'd like to talk about how kickass Vermont is now. Cass can reply to this though since I targeted her.

 And I see no obvious reasons to hate him, no matter how many times you tell me that those should be it. It's all in your outlook.

yup, no doubt about that. but really, if people loved vermont so much, wouldn't the state be bigger to accomodate the demand? so that everyone shares in the "greatness of vermont"?
