All Music All The Time? (Disgust At MTV2)

So, Mtv2 had been one of those channels that i changed to and expected to get something in return. Instead of getting some sort of music (not ever rap which they used to seem to play nonstop) i get a marathon of Bevis And Butthead. Needless to say, i threw the remote at the television in disgust and then change to Fuse.

So MTV2 has been on the air for... 2 years? And already they break their promise of bringing us nonstop music. Brilliant, just brilliant. i guess it's just another example of the crappiness that is MTV.

Much Music actually plays music videos...and occasionally good ones.

doesn't MTV stand for.. Music Television? Shouldn't they, you know, play music? I don't care if it's their station.. if they're not playing music, then they should change the name of the station.

I fail to see how a Beavis and Butthead marathon is music related.

i wish i had MTV2 to see the marathon...that is better then most the videos they play so be happy. Unless you want to see rap music and shitty bands like 3 days grace videos all day

Yea there's nothing wrong with a beavis and butthead marathon and they play like 10 seconds of videos on their show . And the only time MTV plays videos is at like 4am and its mostly rap music anyway. I noticed this summer MTV2 is starting to be like that too. Meh. VH1 is pretty much the same but at least they don't play nearly as much rap videos :freak:

you shouldn't expect much from big corporate media anyway.

To quote a great man (or, rather, his t-shirt), "Corporate radio sucks."

Same goes for TV.

Whats wrong with Beavis and Butthead?

I dont think its a matter of whats wrong with Bevis and Butthead its a principle of MTV2 breaking their promise. I agree that it is total bs that they would do something like that. I pretty much gave up on music videos along time ago anyways. Every time I tune into Much theyve always got some pop or rap artist playing.

But I think, on a whole, it would be like MuchLoud playing Britney Spears or The Edge playing Eminem... oh, wait...

Yeah, MTV2 has been around since like 98, so yeah.

Anyways, I'd be pissed that MTV2 isn't playing all music anymore. I stay up until 2am and turn MTV on, and they play all rap videos. Last time I watched, I had to suffer through three rap videos, a Britney Spears video, then they played the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and went back to rap.

They only play videos from 2-11am, which is fucking bullshit, not to mention that in those nine hours they have at least one all-rap music related show. Last time I checked THERE'S MORE THAN JUST BLACK MUSIC OUT THERE.

The end.

This is why the internet is the best thing ever. *hugs the ability to only download the music videos she actually wants to see*

But yes, MTV and everything associated with it has reached a new low. Heh. For the first time in my life, I haven't watched MTV for months. Which makes me kinda sad, cos I grew up watching it non-stop.

I'd hate to say it, but i do highly enjoy some of the shows on mtv like The Inferno, but thats just because i gave up on them for music. When i turn on MTV2 i expect music. Rap, crap, pop, or not, i still expect some sort of music (though i had been begining to stop after their countless Non-stop Rap Marathon Months).

Fuse is now my station.

yeah, what the heck is up with fuse? All I know is I used to have Much Music (which I liked for the most part) then it changed to Much Music USA (which was incredibly stupid and I tried to avoid) and now it is Fuse (which I've never really watched so I can't comment on it).

Fuse basically has a lot of shows that deal with music and mostly play music videos. They are alright on not voerplaying some stuff, but then again, i think they have played 3DG about a million times.
