I'm buying my first EVER country music cd tomorrow.......

:uh: the new Kenny Chesney that came out today......if you actually are a fan of country music (like I've suddenly become) you should definitely buy it.

I used to listen to country music all the time. It's what my parents listen to, so I was always around it.

Then I started getting into pop crap in the later grades of public school.

Then I finally moved on to good music, with stuff like RHCP, Matt Good and Green Day (none of which I really listen to any more, though I still enjoy RHCP and MG).

LOL that is awesome!!! i love country music but lots of ppl just make fun of me for listening to it but i don't care!! music is music to me and the lyrics speak louder than the genre it is to me! :D do you just like kenny or is there others too?

Well, Kenny's the big one so far. I've really started to like the basics: Toby Keith, Diamond Rio, Clay Walker (a couple songs), and that new guy Pat Green.

I grew up around the oldies...well, my mom at least. I thank my Dad for making me a Bob Segar and a Pink Floyd fan.

you'd get along well with this girl down the hall who blasts country music in the shower (you can hear it anywhere on our side of the building)

Or set yourself on fire because you like country music. Come on man.

Anyways, if you're going to listen to country music, at least listen to someone with talent. Kenny Chesney and Toby Keith are like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys of country. Listen to some Hank Williams Sr. or Willie Nelson.

Some country isn't too bad, it's all my mom listens too so i'm subjected to it on a daily basis. My mom has the hots for Alan Jackson. I don't mind Tim McGraw and I used to like Deana Carter, though I don't know if you'd call her country or not.

:O Holy sh*t. I'm can't believe some of you all like country music. I feel more at home now. Come on, somebody gimme a big ol' country yeehaw. Do it Alan, you know you want to! :P

Definitely go with some old school country, plus some George Strait, Garth Brooks' first 3 or 4 albums. I could probably think of more, but I have drifted away from country over the last four or five years. Newer stuff just isn't as good. :D

I figured I would get several closed-minded comments.......people, its not that I'm now a die-hard fan and I'd rather stand outside next to somebody's Ford truck and spit my chew into a bottle........I like one guy and perhaps a total of ten freakin songs!

Most country still sounds twangy as hell and I'd still wanna shoot MYSELF listening to most of it. My friend has XM Radio and listens to the freakin country stations quite a bit and a lot of it I'm like "ooooooooh myyyyyyyyyy god!"

No. No it's not. In fact, a lot of it's very, very bad. Toby Keith, anyone? Perhaps a little Faith Hill?

Eww.

Some country is alot better than rock.
