I posted this topic a while ago and unfortunately the truth will never be known. The new rumor is that Noel, Liam, Gem and Andy are taking this album more seriously while Alan is not. He's showing up late for recordings and he's extremely out of shape. Alan's always been kind of chubby, but it's affecting his drumming now. Hopefully they replace him with another "better" musician because the more songwriters the better.

I liked it better when I thought it was cos Whitey's hand was screwed up. I read the message on the official site yesterday and was like "woah... that sounds... bad. :("

It makes sense Noel's taking over drumming... he was the drummer for a band that was a sideproject of his called Tailgunner. Regardless, this doesn't give me much hope for future Oasis tours. They have no plans to replace him... and Noel can't very well play drums, guitar, and sing backup (or lead) all at the same time. :uhh: I suppose they could hire a touring musician, though. Oh well, not like they would ever come back to America again anyway. *sigh*

they'll come back, but I think that they don't want to replace him with a new drummer now. It would take too long to put the album on hold, create a bond and then go back into the studio. They'll finish this album with a session musician, and then go out on the road with a touring drummer. After a small tour, they'll hire someone to replace Whitey.

Nah, even if they replace him, I really can't see them coming back here to the states. Not enough fans to make them come to a place they hate. :freak:

They came back the last 3 out of 4 years, what would make this time be any different?

Well, last time they were in the US, they missed three dates thanks to a car accident (I don't blame them for that at all)... so they postponed the dates. They eventually (after nearly a year) officially cancelled those concerts instead of making them up.

Plus they've always hated coming over here and touring and stuff. Now that there's practically no fanbase left over here, they actually have a reason to avoid us.
