Due to the injury in his hand from years of drumming incorrectly, Alan White will leave the band. It's not known whether he is taking time off to heal or if it is permanent. In 2001, White had surgery on both hands during The Brotherly Love tour. His brother Steve White is rumored to be currently in studio filling in while Oasis finish up recording their next album.

Hey, this is where I shrug because it's just the drummer.

^ that is the reason no one learns how to drum anymore, no one cares about the drummer

As long as Oasis get the album sometime soon. I'll be happy.

No one ever wants to be a bassist. It's like the fucking plague to hold a four-stringer nowadays. I solely blame this on the Kids In The Hall sketch where they made fun of the bassist and how he never gets women or invited to parties or anything. Damn you Dave Foley, damn you!

lol it's so true, i play guitar and i tried talking my brother into learning bass, but he refused because the bassist never gets any respect

I want a drum kit cause I know how to play, but no one ever takes me seriously. I'd buy one myself but I need a job first. And it still seems like drumming isnt important. And if you don't learn you'll end up somewhat like Meg White.

....my fucking step sister will get a guitar cause she claims she wants to play when its under her bed right now. fucking prick.

I want to be a bassist. Mainly because Duncan is way cool, but still. I've been begging my parents for a bass.. there was one at the music store for $399 but now it's gone :(

This post just made me go back and check out WTSMG. Crap that sucks.

Stupid question, but since i'm not a fan of them (....yet), I was wondering what their latest cd is besides their upcoming one.

Their last cd was Heathen Chemistry. Decent album.

 Quite different from their older stuff, though. Probably cos Noel no longer writes all the songs. You might've heard one of the tracks from it in a Victoria's Secret ad a while back ("Hung In A Bad Place", though they didn't play any of the vocals in the commercial). AWESOME song... written by Gem. Dude rules, can't wait to hear more of his stuff on the next album.

Still can't believe Whitey's out. :( Gosh, that's so weird. It sucked bad enough when Bonehead and Guigs quit years ago. I think I nearly had a heart attack when that happened, though. :freak:

Wonder who'll replace him. I'm hoping Steve will, cos he rules and looks just like Alan from a far ( didn't even realize he was playing in his bro's place the one time I saw him live with Oasis til I read a review afterwards)... but I doubt that, cos he plays for Paul Weller. :uhh:
