ok here's the deal:

my roomate has been going out with this guy, sam, on and off for 5 years. tonight she found out he cheated on her at least 3 times since she's been up at school. he has also hooked up with another girl (twice...this was also one of my roomate's best friends) before when they were on a short break.

yeah, they may be in love, but this is clearly a fundamental problem

edit: in light of new information, i have to update that it was actually 2 girls, 5 times total in the last few months

Cheating is wrong but you have to look at all the aspects of why he cheated. If he did it just to get a quick fuck then no, he deserves to be dumped.

Yes, let's look at the facts we're presented.

This guy cheated on the girl multiple times. Multiple times. If it was a one time thing and realized he was wrong and regretted it, then he should have to earn her back.

It's almost like you're trying to justify that cheating on someone repeatedly because he craves attention. If you can't keep your dick in your pants after dating someone for five years, then those two don't belong together. If he values sex over the girl he supposedly loves, then he doesn't deserve the girl. The girl can do better than what she has right now, a guy that fucks multiple women as she stays faithful at a huge college.
