Impromptu Poetry

Just go off as you're sitting in front of your computer. I'll start.

All these tears you shed and bleed your life through
The life they take that they've no right to
Mold the stars -- imprison angels
Paint it all in planes and angles
All to hide what really matters
While sense and feeling slowly scatters
Shadows swell and swallow meaning
Making mediocrity of dreaming
Malady of our souls contrived
To suffocate who embraces life

fight the stakes, old and new
squeezing in, binding you
see the angles so far away
I wish that I could make you stay

world of lies, world of dreams
world of everything in between
all I want is life that's fine
all I want rests 'neath slime

fight the draining of your soul
I wish that I could keep you whole
you take the knife and the bread
the blood rains down on our heads

bonds of life, wrists now pained
and the clock ticks again
moments pass, momments die
I hope that heaven doesn't pass you by
