Yeah i know there was a thread about this a while ago... but i don't wanna go looking for it as it is. Me and my girlfriend rented this movie last night, and wow is it fucking awesome! Even if in the first 20 minutes of it i didn't et it whatsoever.

Everyone dies alone.

Such a sad movie. I loved it.

Agreed.

I watched it for the first time about a month ago.

I thought it was amazing.

Very dark movie, but I loved it. The song at the end is so sad.

 I love that movie..

I'm asking for the DVD for Christmas. I was supposed to rent it again this weekend actually, because my cousin hasn't seen it, but we never got to a movie store.

"'Donnie Darko'? What kind of name is that? You sound like a superhero or something."
"Who ever said I'm not?"

Yeah, Donnie Darko is $9.99 here, and I get it for $6.50. In other words, God bless employee discounts.

anyone have any theories on what the fat guy in orange represents when Donnie first tries to kiss Gretchen?

here is a good interview with Richard Kelly, write and director of Donnie Darko, but it gives away some of his interpretations of the movie so if you dont want to know dont read it.

also a interview about his upcoming projects

I told my two friends who love DD about this, and they just about flipped out. So I'm pretty sure we're going for a road trip next summer if they don't release it in Canada.

I accidentally left my mp3 player on single repeat while dozing on a road trip, and must've listened to Mad World by Gary Jules (the ending song to DD for those who don't know) at least fifty times in a row. I'm certain I've been subliminally scarred by it.

And a friend of mine has to do a twenty minute presentation on DD for his English class in a few weeks, heh.
