I know most of you here don't like Good Charlotte but I'm curious about people's opinions to this song/video.
Has anyone seen it yet?

I have to say, all their media is what turns me away from them. I can't watch their videos and interviews and shit because its just too much.
I did download parts of their album though when it was first released, and I have to say that I didn't expect them to release "hold on". I think it is one of their better songs but it is going to get way over played and over done. By next month I will hate it.

Though there isnt a lot of origionality in what Good Charlotte is doing, they do have a fair amount of talent and I hope that by the time this faux-punk phase is over they will still put out records and that they will have learned that writing stupid music and lyrics doesnt work as well as some of their other, more personal songs.

i know, we should be fair and give them a chance but they are SO over rated. and what there doing has been DONE. seriously. yeah they do have talent, but where did the inspiration come from? i';de guess most likely older punk bands. all the girls in my high school go gaga over the madden brothers, makes me wanna puke. now its hip to be goth in my school. isnt that sad?

I know. it really annoys me when people around wear good charlotte patches and buy clothes that have rips in them already because its the fashion. I mean, whats that all about?

Anyway .. anyone have thoughts on the actual video?
My intention wasn't to make yet another "lets bash gc" thread.

or maybe, just maybe, they like good charlotte and the way they dress just happens to be what they like as well. what a concept

anywho, im a good charlotte fan. i have "the young & hopeless",, and i'm so dissapointed that they won't stop releasing singles. i don't know WHY they want everyone to get sick of almost every single song on the album. i really like hold on, i'm dreading seeing the video though. same thing happened with christina aguilera's 'the voice within', it was one of my favourite songs, and i'm terrified of seeing the video again. it's already tainted my view of the song. stupid music videos.

Well have you read about the video? It sounds like it's gonna be pretty good with an actual message to it .. and this is their last single so no more from the young and the hopeless album ..

altho i do agree with you about the amount of singles.. this one is, IMO, important to release

as for the vid.. if they do it tastefully it could be very good for the message.. and thats all that really matters

I haven't really liked any of the videos they've released so far. I haven't heard this song though, so i can't really form an opinion on it yet. But like Sand said,if they do it tastefully it could be very good for the message.I'm interested in seeing it especially since it seems to be different than the other videos.

i could've sworn i saw this video. it may have been in a dream though. i have a tendency to dream about songs i like being made into videos, and it's usually just before the band makes a video about it, before i even hear about it.....anyway........
i am a fan of good charlotte and am excited to see the new video as i was not too impressed with some of their others..
i really like this song and i'm interested to see the video..hopefully i won't hear the song too often though, as i enjoy a song more when i hear it less...

I don't really get a chance to see their video's often .. the only video I've seen played is the one for Young and Hopeless when they're playing in that room and it starts falling apart ... haven't seen the others

I haven't seen the vid, I want to though. I really really really like the song alot, and it does have a good message. If they had to pick one, it should def be that to release.

this song is super cheesy and cliche. and don't diss on me because i like some of their songs, but this song just seems like an anti-suicide song for 3rd graders. seriously though, that's my honest opinion, i say this because i'll probably get shit on, but 'tevs.

well considering benji wrote it because he himself was suicidal .. and i know myself and many others who have suffered from depression or had thoughts of suicide also find comfort in this song .. which is all that matters .. if these so called "cheesy and cliche" lyrics reach even one person, then in my opinion, that means something.

Heh heh, I agree. It reminds me of a ripoff of Adam's Song or something.

I said it before, I think they have talent and I wish the media would back off. That would make everything nice.

I still haven't seen the video. Has it been released yet?

I agree. The media should get off their back. They have become the group that everyone jumps on for being "sellout". If you ask me, Blink 182 doesn't have half the talent, and GC has been around just as long, yet no one jumps down their throat for doing the exact damn thing.

Blink 182 admit to being sell outs ands find it funny, so do Green Day

So do I .. the need to put labels on a band is just silly I think

pfft. Good Charlotte has nothing on Blink.

I just think that if Good Charlotte had the chance to be an indy band of sorts insted of having major lables bid on them they would have had a chance to grow. Insted everyone is all over them for being the "it" band and I get really frustrated.
