Actually, that's all completely true. My friend Greg works at Hot Topic, and apparently kids come in to get them specifically for that. He gets really creeped out by it because a lot of the kids are REALLY young, and some even come in with their parents... and the parents know EXACTLY why the kids want the bracelets. It's sick.
