I have some tabs i would love to figure out, problem is my music knowledge and experience isn't enough for me to figure out more then a few chords on my own, does anyone have any ideas for getting tabs to a song that as far as i know doesn't have anytabs on the net. Like is there any program or site i could use?

The only place that I know of to find tabs is the net. Unfortunately, if it's not a song by a semi-popular band, it's probably not out there.

What song(s) are you looking for?

True and even if it is, its probably a crappy tab.

You never know. Heck, even a shitty tab can at least give a half decent player a place to start.

You know, if you guitar gods are smart enough to tell that the tabs online are wrong, why don't you, I don't know, try to fix them? I mean, if you complain they all suck, then why don't you fix them? That is all.

i can only speak for myself, but i'm at about the level in my guitar playing abilities that i can't figure the tabs out for myself, but I DO know when they sound wrong.

Because tab sites often don't exactly update a lot, and it's a pain in the ass. When a site has really shitty tabs, it's usually a really shitty site to begin with.

I didn't say that all tabs suck, but there are shitty ones out there.

you're not much worse off than a lot of people who tab their own songs...they'll think they have figured out the chords but it will be in the wrong key or some idiot thing like that or they just substitue basic chords for the more complicated ones.

in short, a great deal of the tabs out there are done by people who don't have the damndest clue as to what they're doing. if you want to have a general idea, just fiddle with it for a bit and most likely you'll stumble across the basic chords or you can use a program but other than that, you just have to be real familiar with chords (so that you can pick them up when you hear them) and know something about chord structure. knowledge of chord progressions also doesn't hurt
