At The Drive In was fucking awesome. I was so sad when they broke up.
Sparta's awesome. They are great live, as well. I saw them with Weezer, it was heaps of fun.
The Mars Volta are good too.

I agree, At The Drive In were amazing.
I've seen Sparta live twice and they are awesome.
I've also seen The Mars Volta live opening for rhcp and they were ok, the sound was really bad though.

i love sparta i saw them open for GJ and the cd is even more amazing. "Cut your ribbon" has to be the best opening song to blast in your car just how it builds and he screams "Wake up can you hear me" it is so great I suggest you all try it. My favorite songs are "Sans Cosm" and "Glasshouse Tarrot"

I still need to check out some old at the drive in and mars volta

Yeah, see, ATDI did the smart thing. The second people started recognizing how amazing they were, they ended the band. It compels people to listen to the music more, along with making people wonder what would have happened with their next cd. Ahhh I love ATDI and their spin-off bands.

Actually, it would have been smarter to stay together, sell out, and get insanely rich.

Oh, if they were looking to be corporate fucks like that, then yes, that would be the logical choice, but they have integrity and chose to leave the legend where it was at. My friends and I still discuss how insanely huge they could have been if they didn't break up when they did. It's sad, really. They could have ushered in an amazing style of music, but they killed that happening and somehow Dashboard Confessional, Good Charlotte, and All-American Rejects snuck into the mainstream, and that is the happening trend of today. I would rather have good music be a trend than utter garbage. At least that way people could compare the music I like to a better band than Good Charlotte.

Wow, if these guys stayed together... they would be popular. Punk is in now... i can't imagine there actually being a very good punk band as big as good charlotte and such though
