Allergies

Post by nelison »

Ok I just hit my allergy season. Usually it starts at around august 15th and last a good month or so until the weather cools down. I'm allergic to pollen, ragweed, environmental stuff, etc...

Just wondering what do all of you use to help relieve your allergies? What's the best medication for it in your opinion?

Best medication is taking as much of whatever you're allergic to. Or being around it. If you have sooooo much, your allergies will explode from overdosing.

Or.... You may die...

I haven't found an allergy medicine that works too well yet. I got shots once a week for about 5 years, but stopped getting them about 2 years ago. I bought some Claritin last month, but it doesn't work for me at all.

I have the same type of allergies that you do. I used to use Claritin, but I think I used it so much it doesn't do anything. I use Reactin now, and that seems to work okay.

Thankfully my allergies have been getting better every year, I think cause I'm living in a city now and not a small town surrounded by farms and filled with flowers for the Communities in Bloom competition. I think the worst is when they start combining and then burning their fields. :(

I've tried a bunch of different things but I find Reactin works the best.

Today, my allergies were really bad, so I asked my mom for some of the medication that we keep around. I took it then we went out school shopping, but the thing is, she failed to realize that she gave me the drowsy formula. About halfway into the store I got sooo tired and throughout the entire trip it was hard to walk cuz I was tired.

I probably looked high. :freak:

Tell me about it. I was at the school showing my Grandma something on the computer (my Dad's a teacher so it was after school hours), one second I was fine, the next I almost fell asleep write in front of the computer. I could barely walk to the car. If anyone saw me they must of thought I was either drunk or stoned. Cleared up my cold though.

honey, i wrote the book on allergies.

i am allergic to cats, dust, molds, and some plants. i have both year round and seasonal allergies. i have tried claritin, allegra, singulair, and currently take 2 zyrtec a day to keep my allergies semi-under control. a few times a week i take benadryl to calm my allergies and let myself sleep. benadryl is the shit. if i do not take any allergy medication, even for a day, i get hives for no reason, sneeze uncontrolably, my nose itches, my eyes itch and water, i get nasal passage irritation, and sometimes i have near athsma attacks.
my guess is that allergy shots are next on the list.

if no one else can feel your pain, i can.
