I'm definitely a movie buff. I'm majoring in film at University, I see most movies in first run theaters (I even frequent the cinemateque in order to see foreign and indy films), I spend a ton of time on the internet looking up movie news and rumours, I spent four months in LA interning at New Line Cinema, and I want to work in the industry once I graduate (preferably back down in LA). So, yeah, I'm obsessed with movies and the entertainment industry in general. :D

There's no such thing. You have to see all the bad ones to know which ones are the best. Movie buffs don't formulate opinions from other people's reviews...

You can't tell if they're good or bad until you've watched them. :)

I'm buff.........

oh wait........a movie buff? well yes, I am that too! I don't profess to know everything, especially about movies before 1990.........but I do have an uncanny knowledge about movies according to my friends.

Good movies worth checking out:

Miller's Crossing (1990)
Of Mice and Men (1992)
Sneakers (1992)
and every porn movie

I saw Sneakers when it first came out on video and absolutely loved it. I saw it about 5 times within a week.

Here's some more good movies to add to the list:
Donnie Darko
Requiem For A Dream
Strange Days
Fight Club

For something really new:
X2
Finding Nemo

And for something older:
The Day The Earth Stood Still
Anything with Fred Astaire in it
