Anyone familiar with them? If I could compare them to anyone, it would be to the likes of Finch or the Deftones in some cases. They're amazing musicians. Their most popular song was called "Stars" (which Finch recently covered on Jimmy Kimmel - amazing), then released another album and broke up. My only complaint is that the singer vocals are weak at times (actually more often than not), but it's more than made up for. Check them out.

I love Hum. I always found them to be absolutely amazing.

They're nothing like Finch, they don't rely on screaming to get through a song. I can see the comparison to the Deftones though. See, both bands kind of have a spacey feel to their music. They're not exactly alike, but they have the same feel.

Now if there was a God, Hum and Far would get back together and go on tour. I love Jonah from Far/onelinedrawing.

I wasn't comparing vocals. They clearly are not alike. I think the overall feeling of the music, ie. the "spacy-ness", is similar to Finch and the Deftones. Also, these three bands are the only bands that I would describe as "being hit by a wall of sound" if that makes any sense. I don't know, whatever, I didn't start the thread to be bashed for making a comparison that I see, they're simply a good band that I figured not a lot of people know about but would probably like.

i wasn't trying to bash you corey

i was simply stating that hum isn't like finch

i agree with the spacey-ness sound though.... their music reminds me of scenery and fish by IME

Fair enough. I think they have similar feeling, but no, they aren't exactly alike.

woo. i wandered in at an interesting time.
i've heard stars. i adore stars, actually.

i can't really judge them and compare them to other bands from one song...they do seem to have their own funky style, though..but, like any band, they can be compared and likened to others. it's impossible to not sound like another band..musicians tend to gather inspiration from others for their music, so similarities pop up.
