I don't think we have ever had a thread about them, but i like them alot..my lacrosse captian this year is obsessed with them, so i was forced to listen to them, and i ended up really liking them... I think 4 minute mile is an amazing album.. something to write home about isn't bad either...what does everyone else think about them

I really like them. I am not obsessive with them like I am about Koufax and Alkaline Trio, but I am definitely into them. I have 4 Minute Mile, Something To Write Home About, and On A Wire on cd.
At the moment I am all about the lead singer's side project, The New Amsterdams. It's like The Get Up Kids, but with swearing. I just saw The New Ams play a show in Detroit, and it was amazing. Nothing better than talking to the lead singer. Yes.

I love them. Something to write home about is a brilliant cd. on a wire is good and definitely has some of the better songs i've ever heard on it. and for whatever reason i never got around to buying 4 minute mile, which i'm picking up today before vacation.

i think 4 minute mile is their best album, its more raw and i like that...the newer stuff loses a bit of its edge

I like them, but not overly into them. But a good band nonetheless.

When my friends all say I'm crazy.
Maybe I'm being selfish, maybe I'm just scared.
Don't be gone when I get home
I need you there.

I like that cd, but most people don't. I don't see why not though, I guess it's because The Get Up Kids went from whining about women to singing about real things, and those 15 year olds just haven't been able to adjust to the change in music. They finally write a true emo cd, and yet none of the emo scenesters like it. Makes sense, eh?

Awww snap!
I just bought The Get Up Kids' first two EPs today for a whopping $10!
I am so going to make money off this shit! Man, it's sad, the person sold these cds for $5, and I am going to make some big money off this shit.

i'm jealous.
are they screamo by any chance? I heard from someone that TGUK used to be a screamo band.

To tell you the truth, I don't want to listen to the cd and scratch it. This is my little emo investment. I suppose I could give it a listen to and tell ya.
