It's not true. If that's true then Mr. Rogers played Higgins on Magnum P.I.

I was worried you would place yourself higher than The Clash, then I would kill you.

Just my opinion... but most punk rock sounds the same to me... It's becoming what Nickleback/creed/theory/etc. was last year and the year before. A lot of bands who sound the same but are the new trend.
Again just my opinion, if you don't like it well don't take offense please.

if by punk rock you mean good charelotte, new found glory, simple plan, etc... than yes, you're right.
if you listen to stuff like jeff listed than i dont think so... and those types of bands arent just a "new trend" they've been around.
and i'm not looking very forward to the new Rancid. some of their old songs were good, but i'm not a big tim armstrong fan.

I've heard the new Rancid song on the radio, and it's fun. I like it. It doesn't try to bring you down or anything, it just makes you wanna rock out with it.
There's a difference from punk rock and corporate pop music. The bands that Jeff listed all worked their asses off for years before they got any recognition. Hell, some of those bands still don't get much recognition, like Hot Water Music and One Man Army. They tour and write great music, and even if they might not sound perfect, they earn your respect.
Now the corporate bands are the ones that get slapped together by their record companies and get promoted out the ass, and are usually on major labels. But I give Simple Plan credit, they toured for nine years before getting signed to a good label. I still loathe them though.

no I meant the bands listed... Just because a band has been around for years doesn't mean they can't be the new trend and for the last 6-8 months those bands have become trendy. GC, NFG and SP are more of a pop/punk. I've taken a listen to all of the bands mentioned and couldn't really sperate one from another,

Wow, if you can't tell The Distillers from anyone else, I can teach you the difference between boys and girls
Anyways, what you just said is like saying you can't tell the difference between OLP, Creed, Nickleback, and Days of the New.

It may just be that I dislike punk music... Most people who can't differentiate usually don't like the genre...

That's very true. It would be like expecting me to tell the difference between any rapper. They all suck.

I don't like punk much either... Every once in awhile I'll hear a song that I like, but on the whole I don't like to it that much.
HOWEVER. Whatever floats your boat

I don't like punk, but I like the Ska.
Reel Big Fish, The Skatalites, Kemuri, a little Less Than Jake.
