lets take this from the top
Neil, you're right.
To those of you picking the spurs.. hA! HA HA HA! David Robinson is gone and you replace him with.... RASHO! ahahahahaha! didn't you see the way Shaq pushed Rasho around in the series against the T'Wolves?
Kobe & Shaq were a championship combo on their own and now they have support. The Mavericks are good, no doubt, but the lakers are putting out a starting line up that is better then the Eastern All Stars will be this year.
As for lack of Clutch players ,i can't believe that was even brought up. His name is KOBE, he wear's #8 and he ALWAYS wants the ball! sheesh!
the Lake show is going back to the top where we belong this year!

I hope Shaq's legs just randomly blow out. I prayed for Chris Webber to go down and that came true. Shaq must be next.

I'm grateful for what he did, but for the past five years he's been an ass, and I'm glad to see him go.

I'm with Doug.........the Spurs "guys in suits" are basically shitting themselves because no matter how hard they try now, their depth is NOTHING compared to the Lakers. Most of LAST SEASONS starting 5 will be 6th, 7th, and 8th men which is crazy deep compared to other teams in the league.
Utah is going to be lost without the Stockton/Malone connection.......where the heck would the Jazz have been the last decade or so without them??? Probably looking like the Dallas Mavs looked only several seasons ago, a shit hole team.

You're right we will suck. But the Jazz sucked before Stockton and Malone and they had to build it up. We need to build up some fresh talent. They aren't the only good thing that can happen to us.

LA is the top dog again. But the contract sizes got me thinking that this is kind of the trend in Basketball and Hockey now... once upon a time good players just went where the money was highest, but now you see more and more superstars leaving teams they've played with forever to join contenders. Take a look at Hasek in Detroit, Bourque in Colorado and of course the Kariya/Selanne combo now also in Col.
Now it's seeped over to the NBA where you have Jason Kidd saying he wants a ring, and making waves because he looked so hard at signing in San Antonio. Then you have Malone and Payton taking MASSIVE pay cuts to play in LA. The irony is, of course, that a small market team could have afforded to pay Malone what he's making in LA, except that he would only sign for that salary in LA. It just doesn't seem fair
