Confirmed on espn-news..........Gary Payton and Karl Malone have both now committed to signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Which means, 4 of who are considered to be "greatest" are going to be in 1 starting lineup.
If all 4 stay healthy.......nobody has a shot at taking them, seriously. We now know who the Yankees of the NBA definitely are.
I love Shaq......hate Kobe......man, a crisis.

I predict it......the Lakers in 5, they'll let whoever they play win Game 3 because they'll feel bad.

...payton is too old he wont have a great year
...malone will injure his leg
...Kobe will take a few months off to re-pursue his career as a rapper, and never get back into it.
...shaq cant do it by himself.

won't happen.........

(even though i know most on here wish that) with 4 all stars in one starting line up, that is going to take the work load off of all of them.
GP is aging, but he still has his game. The Bucks weren't his team......I honestly think he'll fit well with the Lakers style of offense. Plus GP has always been a strong defensive mind, and I'm sure Jackson knows that as well.
Who do ya think will play SF? assuming that it will be the 5th spot not filled by the four....

they'll probably just go out and buy some other superstar

...bastards.

*ahem*
SLackers? what's this hype about the Slackers?
San Antonino has always been underated and according to most of you small staters.....never had a chance, not in the first round, not in the secong round, not in the finals.
San Antonino....gonna beat the SLACKERS every game this season and if the Slackers make the playoffs, they will SWEEP them there too. HA!

Reno.....you're on crack
Line 'um up.....stats wise.....now power wise.
IF the Lakers can stay healthy (i am saying IF) they're unstoppable.

right, lets face it, kobe's distracted by legal crap, Shaq doesn't have the work ethic, malone is old, the glove is worn down. NO CHANCE. San Antonino.

Reno......ummmm no dammit
Like I said before.......GP did not fit with the bucks......his type of game fits perfectly into Jackson's plans if he forms them correctly. Malone, yes old, is still a reliable source of playtime. Let's face it........he's a lot more together than Olajuwon or Ewing turned out to be their last couple seasons.
Shaq has been shakey the last couple of seaons......but he's the biggest IF factor as far as health. I feel this will be his return to complete dominance because the work load will definitely decrease from him.
Kobe is a male whore, yes, but I'm assuming that will be cleared up before too long. He'll probably pay her off to shut her up eventually. And we all know it (whether we like it or not) Kobe has game...

it's just a bunch of old timers getting together trying to look for that ring but will never get it. malone is nothing without stockton. all he is is an elbow that he constantly throws around. Shaq won't even work without the load off of him, he's too lazy. he's not hungry for another title. Kobe's good but the media will pester hm about this incident throughout the season and you know it will get to him.

malone doesnt have stockton, but he has three other superstars.
The lakers have a shot at one of the greatest seasons ever here, that might be enough for shaq to put in some effort, and the kobe thing will fade out soon enough.

******** NEWSFLASH - ESPNNEWS ********
Kidd has committed to staying a New Jersey Net for a currently undisclosed amount of time....
AND...
Alonzo Mourning has now committed to signing with the Nets..
WE HAVE THE FINALS (Lakers vs Nets) and Lakers in 5.

the NBA needs a salary cap.
as do baseball and hockey

It does have one. That is why Malone signed for $1.5 million. He'd have demanded $20 million if he could. Malone is a fucking bastard.
Anyways, this season is already over. The Spurs needed to sign someone huge, and all they can get is fucking PJ Brown, which is a disappointment, because I've been a huge Spurs fan since '92.
The Nets can't do it. Their only improvement was to sign a guy without kidneys, way to go Nets!
Next offseason will be interesting. Look for the Pistons to make a huge push for Kevin Garnett.. He would want to come here, and my God, we will dominate the league if that happened. Could you imagine the starting line-up of Ben Wallace at center, Darko Milicic at power forward (if he doesn't suck), Kevin fucking Garnett at small forward, Rip Hamilton at shooting guard, and Chauncey Billups at the point. If that happened, we know who is making it to the finals from the eastern conference. Until then, I am not bothering to watch an NBA game, because the season is already over.

Malone is a fucking bastard.
AMEN! I hate Malone. I always tolerated him cause he had Stockton under his wing and Hornacek. Now he can go straight to fucking hell. I remember a long time ago him talking about riding other people's shirttails to succes. Hmmm Karl...what do you think signing to a superstar team is? Yup, cop out.
And for those of you who think Malone is reliable. My ass he's reliable! That man...if you are a Laker's fan, you're gonna shit your pants when you see him w/ his fade away shot. Sure, in 1 out of 20 games you thank your lucky stars for that shot. But most of the time it's just a damn turnover. Laker rot in hell! I'm w/ Mr. Bo on this one!
