hey
i am making a summer cd
and i want happy summery songs
or songs that sound great to blast in the car
here's what I have so far:
i need to put them in order!! this is the hard part!
belle and sebastian -a summer wasting
rilo kiley- with arms outstretched
cursive - art is hard
ash - walking barefoot
phantom planet - anthem
ultimate fakebook - perfect hair
phantom planet - california
koufax - it had to do with love
ultimate fakebook - glitter and glue
the good life - your birthday present
rilo kiley - the frug
bright eyes - first day of my life
i need some more suggestions
and if you know these songs and can think of a good arrangement, let me know

You definitely have to put The Thrills on there, their upcoming album So Much For City is the best summer album ever, with really uplifting songs like Santa Cruz, Big Sur and Your Love Is Like Las Vegas.

If you're looking for happy summer type songs, Ihave always thought Island In the Sun by Weezer fits that profile great

ya there's a lot of Weezer songs that fit well... personally I'd go for Keep Fishin (or is it gone fishin? no I think it's keep)

Flaming Lips, "It's Summertime"
XTC, "Summer's Cauldron" (which would be a good starter for any CD)
Eels, "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues"
Rusted Root, "Send Me On My Way"
G. Love and Special Sauce, "Cold Beverage"
Great Big Sea, "Ordinary Day"
Led Zeppelin, "Ramble On"
OK Go, "You're So Damn Hot"
Poi Dog Pondering, "Aloha Honolulu"
Savuka, "Dela" (from the George of the Jungle soundtrack - greatest movie ever!

)
The Strokes, "The Modern Age"
Three Dog Night, "Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog (Joy to the World)" - this song is good for just about anything
Bryan Adams, "Summer of 69" (heeheehee!)
Dammit, now
I wanna make a summer CD too!
