whenever i think about this case i shake my head and ask myself:

what the fuck?

honestly. i don't understand how american citizens can sit back and watch this ridiculous circus go on and not want to puke. there is something very wrong with the pursuit of "justice" in america today.

funny, i thought you were innocent until proven guilty in the united states. obviously not.

stewart is being charged with obstruction of justice and securities fraud.

this is all stemming from allegations of insider trading against her [ which she is not being charged with ] as a result of her selling her 4000 shares of ImClone stock, a company whose CEO she was close friends with, immediately before news went public that the FDA was denying approval to their cancer fighting drug.

for publicly denying any wrongdoing, stewart is being charged with securities fraud. the way the SEC sees it, this was a fraudulent attempt to bolster her stock price. for denying any wrondoing in interviews with state investigators, she is being charged with obstruction of justice.

martha stewart has done nothing wrong, even if she did sell her stock because her friend advised her that the price was about to drop, so what? she didn't hurt anybody. no one was adversly affected by it.

this is a prime example of the united states trying people because of envy. martha stewart is a brilliant woman and strong entrepeneur. she built her company from scratch and now has a fortune because of it. because she didn't take the same fall as everybody else who held ImClone stock, she is now a criminal according to their laws.

asinine.
