i thkn we all still deserve a round of applause, we all are informed and politically active, people who are not are the scourge of society, we on the other hand are informed and make choices on what we believe not who looks nicer or who's more popular. I sometimes think the right to vote should be open to all BUT the person should be forced to actually learn about each canidate and party before voting so they can make an informed true choice of who should run the country, otherwise you get idiots that just vote for any jackass

thats actually a really good idea... make people pass some type of quiz at the polls....
except it would decrease voter turnout and create a crapload of civil right issues.

Well, maybe before people go out to vote, there should be a video in the voting booth that forces people to watch the views that each candidate has to offer. That way inept leaders won't get into office due to name recognition, ya know?

yeah the quiz thing was done back in the days...not a good idea, though i think it would be a great idea to have a video that shows the canidates views on things and you can decide from there.

We should also have a better program for convincing people to vote.

Yes. By "convince" I mean, of course, force at gunpoint.

i think the voters would come out if they just knew what was going on, the mudslinging campaigns don't educate, they just screw people up.

Agreed. I cannot express how much I hate those campaign commercials where they don't just go into how great their candidate is, they make up shit about the opposing one as well: "I heard that he eats babies! And then has sex with them AFTER eating them! And then pukes up the babies and feeds them to his PUPPIES, that he keeps locked up in his basement with spikes and chains! Oh, and his politics suck too. Vote for me!" Politics are so polluted.

I've been away a couple days... I see Alan has ventured back, nice to see ya, no hard feelings I hope.
Anyways, there should be some sort of ban on mudslinging. The only time a politician should be able to attack another through the media should be during a debate which is structured and fair.

Jim, if there were hard feelings towards ya, I'd have insulted you by now....bitch.

off that note (but somewhat relaed to Rochester) This guy, last name Clancy, I guess he's a HIGH UP at Kodak. He bought a lottery ticket here in Hornell and won the freakin "win for life"
Isn't that just freakin slap ya in the ass fantastic?

I hate it when people who are making six figures already win big on the lottery.

think so? I guess the guy has worked there since he was 15.......and he's like sixty now
I'm guessing this will help make his retirement THAT much greater, even though his retirement plan has to be more than I could dream.
