i dont say the pledge in school anymore... but you have to stand up or they'll write you a refferal even if you're not american.

Lack of freedom? All you have to do is stand up for a whopping 40 seconds while the class gives off a monotone reciting of a speech that has no meaning to them. Yeah, standing = lack of freedom.

it's not standing in particular, it's the thought of standing for something you don't agree with, by standing you are ineffect being forced to agree with it, although as i stated before it's not THAT bad because your not expected to say it

to me, its just a matter of respect. Not to the Flag, but to the people around you. In high school, I don't think anyone actually said the pledge.... well... besides me.
