Late Night TV Microphones

Hey all,
I'm curious if there an actual name for the old style microphones you see on the desks of all the late night TV shows such as David Letterman or Conan O'Brien.
I have a friend graduating soon who is a broadcasting major so I thought a replica of one of theses mics would make a great graduation gift.
If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. I've attached a pic of what I'm looking for belwo.
