Johnny Cash

I just got the new Johnny Cash album mainly due to covers I either heard on the radio or downloaded such as "Hurt," "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and "Personal Jesus." However, the originals are awesome as well!

Just wondering if there are any other Cash fans here who could recommend to me a few of his cds (other than the new one) as I know he has tons.

Thanks a lot!

not really a Johnny Cash fan in the least bit, but this album is special.

the last one he'll make, and hearing his voice singing Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode, etc.

I forget what it's called... some horrible degenerate disease.

:wtf: When I posted, I certainly didn't expect what this thread so quickly turned into. No replys? Maybe. But this talk of him being dead  You should all check out some stuff from the new album...I would especially recommend "Hurt" (NIN cover), "Give My Love to Rose" (original by Cash), and "I Hung My Head" (written by Sting, although I can't imagine Sting playing that song...maybe it was written for Cash?)

he's dying because he didn't take care of himself, and basically drank himself to bad health. the hurt video he made is really sad actually

Dude, the guy's 80. Despite his past drug addiction and drinking problem, he's still lived longer than my grandparents.

But, then again, he's been in a coma... hell, music is what is keeping him alive. "Gotta keep moving; like a shark. I'll die if I stop."

He's working on a gospel album with a black choir as well as a hillbilly-throwback album; he's also singing on his wife June's album.

That, and he probably WILL make an American V, if he lives through making his two next albums.

Meanwhile, download "Man In Black" and "Folsom Prison Blues". They be good music, yo.
