Pills

I was bound and gagged by armies of White
and tossed in this corner to die
Robbed of my Body, robbed of my Sight
unable to move or to cry

She came with the White
    She banished the Night
And she tells me that all will be well
She tosses me Dreams
   She swallows my Screams
And she left me alone where I fell

I was silenced and shrunken by soldiers of Blue
who warned me 'gainst drawing her Fear
And everything melted, and nobody knew
except me, in the dust, in the rear

And she danced with the Blue
Crisp as Spring, fresh and new
And she banished me from Air and Light
She tears down my Walls
   And makes telephone calls
To assure the World all is alright

I was tombed and embalmed by agents of Pink
who told me my Use had been served
They calligraphed my Death, signed in Blood, scribed in Ink
and called it more than I deserved

And she laughs with the Pink
And she won't let me think
As she places the stone at my head
She explains me away
And she smiles, as I lay
Twice unborn, never breathing, not dead

It's been brought to my attention that this can be sung to the tune of "Gilligan's Island", which I think improves the poem tenfold.

You're publishing a book of these, right Aerin? Cause then I can buy it and read them and fantasize that I wrote them.

I tried that, and it kind of has too many syllables. :P
