I'm probably the only person on this board who has been impatiently awaiting the release of this project, but I thought I'd post about it anyway. read on:

----------------------------

Chris Cornell and the former instrumental section of Rage Against the Machine, who are strongly considering the name Audioslave, have set a November 19 release date for their debut album.

The first single from the record is called "Cochese" and is slated to hit radio in early October, according to the band's management. Audioslave will shoot a video for the track in Los Angeles at the end of September with Mark Romanek, the director behind Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" and Michael and Janet Jackson's "Scream."[/quote]

FINALLY...new cornell stuff!

I was a huge soundgarden fan, and I really dug his cd "euphoria morning"

Soundgarden is my favourite band. ever. I wasn't as impressed with Euphoria Morning. I thought he butchered Fluttergirl on it. :( the demo was so much better.

anyhoo, I've heard the demos for this album and they rock, but the studio polishing always changes them. I can't wait for the release!!!!

You're not the only one impatiently awaiting this album. I have a 10 song demo CD from the band, and it's awesome! They said the album will be much different than the demos, so I can't wait! There is no way this album can be bad, no way...

didn't he quit the fucking band already? those guys must be mean to their singers or something.

he quit the project and then rejoined. I'm sure Chris can take care of himself if the RATM guys are mean to him.

speaking of which does anybody know if they'll play rage songs on tour? or will it just be this "audioslave" stuff?

The edge102 in Toronto played the new Audioslave single late last night. It sounded amazing. Hopeful a full tour will follow. I also didn't like Chriss Cornell's Euphoria Morning. I am so excited at the thought of seeing Cornell and RATM playing together. Can not wait.

Chris was good in Soundgarden. Zach was good in RATM.

RATM was one of my favorite bands, I can't seem to let that go, and this breaks my heart. It makes me excited too, but I just hear those instrumental lead ins, then Chris, and it doesn't jive in my mind.

Imagine OLP getting someone else to sing for them. It may be good, and I would be psyched to see them again, but every time you hear that bass, drums, or guitar, and Raine wouldn't come in with vocals...........it's just hard for me. :(

I miss the old Rage. If Audioslave does any RATM covers I will KICK cornell's ass because he CANNOT sing like Zach, and all the meaning would be lost.

Chris would never cover a RATM song.

I've nominated myself Chris Cornell's bodyguard. anyone who wants to kick his ass will have to get through me first. :P

you people don't understand how much I worship that man.

That's awesome. I'm also pretty siked about the Nirvana Box set and Pearl Jam's new album, but Chris in Audioslave is damn cool.

its actually nothing like that at all because they are not Rage so saying if Raine left OLP and they got a new singer is something very different because they would still be OLP but Audioslave isnt Rage or Soundgarden

and Cornell can sing better then Zach because i just said so.
