Hey guys, I have to do a term paper on an author. I've narrowed it down to either Kerouac of Kurzweil. What do you guys think?

by Sufjan Stevens
Kurzweil. He would be a cake topic, because he has so much shit that he's done in his life, you can pick one thing and fly with it. Anyways, OLP named a cd after his work. Not just stuttered his name in a song.

I think I'd go with Kurzweil... much more to talk about plus much more information on the man and his work... Kerouac is a great author but I think he'd be very tough to write about...
Besides it's not like both authors are really well known anyways so I'm sure whoever you are presenting this to (teacher, peers whoever) will still get something out of it, and it would probably lead to a good mark

ya Kerouac isn't big at all really... of his era he may have been a great writer but I doubt most people would know who he was if you asked them... On the Road is a great book but I don't think it gave Kerouac the type of popularity that say Catcher gave Salinger

age means nothing though so don't you worry, even though I think Kerouac is even a few decades before your time as well...

yes, but I can't recall any of my friends ever being ignorant of any of Kerouac's works. :|

maybe hes not very well known among teens, thats very possible...growing up people usually only know whats really big at the time or what they are forced to read in school. but that doesnt take anything away from his notoriety. he is considered by many to be one of the top modern american authors ever...and thats almost purely from on the road
