ok so for the last 3 days all it's been is a countdown on this station that says "T-minus 3 hours, 4 minutes 23 seconds" and so on and it's been doing this for 3 days and it finally stopped at noon today, well me and my friends we're listening to it to see what the hell would happen when the time was done... well these two guys came on and proceded to just talk and they referred to themselves as "booger and Buckwheat" or something like that and they then played the song "wild thang" which is like a early 90's rap song and they've played it non-stop for the last 8 hours now... same song, and occasionally they come on and talk for a bit and then they play the song again... it's kinda weird...
so i was wondering what was up, so i checked out the stations website a couple mins ago when i got home and this is what it said..

why cant anything interesting happen to stations over here like this.

they are most likley just switching there type of music and pulling a big publicity stunt. maybe you were lucky enough to get opie and anthony from long island who recently were fired. they are horrible so i hope for your sake they didnt go there.

The continuous loop of Tone Loc's Wild Thang was so not funny.

Now they're just playing rap music all the time. I really liked that station before. :|

When one of the (lighter) alt-rock stations in my area turned into a top 40 station (and got the rick dees morning show, PAIN) they did the turn around near thanksgiving, and I remember driving home for the holiday, and they played the grinch song ("You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch) for something like 2 straight days, until after the holiday was over.
It was my favorite station, too. I was PISSED.

Then when the Edge went out here, they played "end of the world as we know it" for a whole day.

It's a pretty common thing to do apparently. Try and drown your happy memories of the station with the annoyance of listening to one song over and over, so when the new format kicks in you'll listen just because it's not that one damn song.

ya i have a feeling that they just did it to switch the type of station it was, but at the time it was pretty odd to hear that especially without any warning what-so-ever
