Barenaked Ladies - Falling For The First time is most definatly not innapropirate.

If that isn't a throwback to 9/11, I dunno what is.

They also banned American Pie by Don Mclean and Walk like Egyptian by the Bangles

I wonder who they payed to compile that list?

That's a little extreme

When the BNL performed at the benefit concert I'm pretty sure they played that "Falling for the First Time" song .. that's retarded .. some of those songs should be on that list but definitely not all of them.

Alanis Morrisette - Ironic :wtf:
Everclear - Santa Monica :wtf: :wtf:

My friend had that exact same list on her door last year.

I don't know, this is from Clear Channel, owns 1 in 10 stations in the U.S. I find it freakin hilarious.

I'm pretty sure that is just a "suggested list" and only applied during the immediate aftermath. I guarantee you'll hear several of those songs being played again.

co.. Rage Against the Machine, all songs

hahaha

bj.. John Lennon, "Imagine"

:wtf:

ch.. Peter, Paul, & Mary, "Blowin' in the Wind," "Leavin' on a Jet Plane"

bk.. Jerry Lee Lewis, "Great Balls of Fire"

I can see how people might make a connection, but come-freakin-on!

Seriously now, if someone heard Leavin' On A Jet Plane, it may bring a tear to their eye, but they're not going to sue the station or think that it's inapropriate.

where'd you get this?

Yahoo search engine, it came up randomly.

az.. Buddy Holly & the Crickets, "That'll Be the Day" :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

There is absolutely no connection there .. I looked up the lyrics to Everclears Santa Monica cuz I have that cd and the only connection I could find in the lyrics was one line that goes:

"We can live beside the ocean
Leave the fire behind
Swim out past the breakers
Watch the world die"

DMB - Crash into me :wtf:

And I heard that the reason "Ironic" is banned is because it contains: "Mister play-it-safe was afraid to fly / he packed his suitcase kissed his kids goodbye / he waited his whole damn life to take that flight / and as the plane crash down well isn't this nice..."

That still makes no sense why it's banned.

yeah, i saw that a while back...some guy basically just put together a list of all the songs he could think of with titles like that

Posted: 8/23/2002, 4:19 pm
by Joey
So that list has no truth to it whatsoever? That makes more sense than radio stations actually banning those songs

Is it possible to even ban songs?? I mean, with freedom of speech and all?

well a radio station could ban songs from being played if it wants
