I'm the second atheist in my immediate family. Everyone else is Catholic because they feel like they have to be.

That's sad. I'd rather be nothing, than feel I had to be something. That's the problem with religion these days.

Ah, I'm catholic. Not really devout, but it works well with me. I've learned to accept it and take it as it comes.

I'm torn between the last two .. I was raised Catholic .. Catholic schools until College but I don't believe a word of it and I don't go to church, ever .. what beliefs I do have lie the closest with Wicca BUT I don't practice Wicca and I can't call myself Wiccan and I still doubt their idea of 'gods and goddesses' so that leaves me with being atheist .. BUT I do believe in some things .. so I don't fit in there either.

organized religion is occult.....it all contradicts itself while damning everything.....anyhow, i am braditarian. i believe things i use my mind to rationalize.

I was brought up half catholic... beliveing in God and the catholic way of things, except for baptism. I've shed off alot of catholicism (sp?). It's a simple belive for me... I belive in God. God make the earth, the unsiverse, ect. i have a strong faith in the man himself (figure of speech), but I'm not sure about all the rules that come with everything. I belive if you have a strong faith prayers are answered.... that's about it...

Besides my immediate family I would say, same story, different address.

I figure they think "Hey, everyone else is doing it, why go against the grain?". They're catholic. My other brother might be a skeptic.

We don't go to church, whenever I have confession or anything in CCD, they keep me home.

The rule is that I have to go to CCD until confirmation. Bah. "Oh, you have to get married in a church!! I want you to!". Mum, if I even WANTED to get married, it sure as hell wouldn't be in a church.

I think "Confused" should be one... I'm none of the above, because there are some things that I believe, and others that I don't, so I don't really fit into any label.

Ahree: I would never get married in a church either .. my friend who just got married told me not too .. they hated it. The priest would take them aside and ask them REALLY personal sexual questions to see if they 'worthy' of him marrying them and during his sermon he bashed gay people and the reading was all about 'a good wife cleaning house' so he was really a rude priest. I hated him on sight.

I want an outdoor wedding

My brother is getting married next year and he is getting married at Casa Loma and my parents totally flipped out cause he's not getting married in a church. and then when my parents found out they were getting a judge to do the ceremony, they flipped out even more. I guess my brother got sick of their nagging that he decided to get a minister for the wedding to get my parents off his back.

When i get married (i guess i should say IF i get married) i'm gonna go to Vegas.

Nah, you don't have to get married in a church. Anyone can get ordained via the internet these days. So have a best friend get ordained and have an outdoor wedding and tell the rents where to stick the confirmation stuff. My step-mother tried to get me confirmed in her Lutheran church and I got sick of it and protested until they let me go.

I do not want to be associated with organized religion in any way. Religion causes too many wars, and frankly, I just don't buy it! And don't get me started on the traffic problems during World Youth Day. :) This is not to say I'm not spiritual -- I believe there are forces that defy human science and logic -- but I do not believe in Gods, afterlife, etc.

I, too, have had the "how would your wedding be" debate recently. I obviously do not want a ceremony to be associated with organized religion in any way (see above!). I need a wedding without hearing the word "Jesus". I also do not want anything big.

Friends of my family got married on a beach with the sun setting on the horizon. The entire thing was done with the bride, groom, immediate families on both sides, and a judge. Maxium 12 people. All the guys had their pants rolled up... everyone was in barefeet. The photos I've seen are amazing. That is FOR SURE how I want my wedding.

Before thinking about my wedding though, I may have to enter and maintain a relationship. Yeah - that's where the problems are.

I always thought weddings were really corny. Everyone's all dressed up, and there's all sorts of rules, like "You can't see your bride before the wedding starts!".

I think it's just stupid.

If I do get married, it'll be small. Maybe a few family members and close friends. Nothing too fancy.

Like i said, when i get married, i'm eloping and going to Vegas.

I don't know I've been raised Jewish my whole life...I don't know anything other than that really. For some reason, I think that religion thing kind of made me EXACTLY who I am and makes me realize more about what I want to be. The only thing that really makes me mad is there is a tremendous amount of pressure put on you by rabbis, family members, syn. members, etc. to marry a Jewish man and have kids and raise them to be Jewish so that the religion survives. I don't know what it is, but Jewish guys just don't interest me. The ones I know are jerks... so...if I want to marry a man whos not Jewish and risk getting disowned by my family I think I could choose to do so.

uh huh, i know what you mean. I know this one specific jewish guy and he is a total dick.

I believe in God, but don't worship. Religion is just there for me. I really don't care much about it.
