Columbus, OH...1st night of Gravity tour

i just got home this morning from ohio...it was freaking awsome!!!!!!!!!

let me start from the beginning. alan and i got to the newport music hall at about 4 and then we left my mom holding our place in line while we went to look for somewhere to buy posterboard so that we could make a sign saying "play blister" . we walked around the corner and heard music coming from the allyway...it was OLP! we walked in the door to see the band doing a soundcheck. we stood there a few minutes listening to them then alan looked behind us and saw raine making up the setlist. we walked over to him and talked a little bit and then got a picture. we went outside to the boxoffice to pick up alan's ticket and on the way, picked up a free poster and flat. we left to put the shit in my car and then went back in again. by this time raine was onstage and a guard threw us out. we went around back to find the tour bus for later and we came upon a bunch of guys who we thought were roadies, polishing a drum set. OLP's tour manager came by and we asked him if he could convince the guy to let us in. he told us he'd try but wouldn't promise anything. he didnt come back out. then, one of the "roadies" said to us "why don't you guys just go in the stage door?" we knew we'd get our asses kicked so we asked him to come with us. it turns out that this guy was the bassist for greenwheel. he came inside with us and the asshole guard who had kicked us out last time told us to get out. the guy from greenwheel (brandon) tried to convince him to let us stay, but to no avail :| . we went back to sitting in line when mike eisenstein walked by. i called his name and he came over to talk to us. he actually remembered me, including the name junkimunki!!!!!!!!! the concert itself rocked. i liked greenwheel a little more than ash...they'll probably make it big pretty soon. OLP's set was amazing! I'll try to list as much as i can remember (out of order), we tried to get a setlist from a roadie but he wouldnt give it to us

all for you, do you like it?, not enough, one man army, clumsy, is anybody home?, mafia, naveed-life-naveed, starseed with a trippy (but amazing..falsetto) 5 minute intro, starseed, superman's dead, theif, innocent, bring back the sun, story about a girl. the encore was somewhere out there, whatever, 4am

after the concert, we waited by the tour bus for them to come out. that's where alan and i found dan. the band members finally came out and we got our flats signed, pictures, etc. the guys hung out with us for a suprisingly long time...somewhere around 45 minutes. jer was being his funny self...yes i did bug him once again about posting on here and getting off the CC  . he kept calling this one guy "dell" cuz he supposedly looked like the guy from the dell commercials. i think he remembered me bugging him in detroit about the CM. he's such a cool guy to joke around with....but they all are

I walked away from the place with an autographed poster, an autographed guitar pick from Steve and a drumstick from Jeremy....good night, eh? Raine called Steph and I crazy for driving to see them play...which is cool. Mike Eisenstein confirmed the statement that I look like Prince William too, how odd? Steve said he remembered me and out of pure luck got my name right ("You're Al, right?") Raine remembered me from the soundcheck and said "I hope to see you in Chicago" right before he got on the bus, which is cool too. I can't wait for their next show, where I am sure everyone but Duncan (he wasn't too social with me) will remember who Steph and I are...

I can't believe I flat out asked every band member to play Blister...I had my chance to ask and I did, although I failed. If they ever play Blister live for one of you people out there, you have to thank me...oh yes

I wish I could go to the Chicago concert, but I'm going to be on vacation...we're going to Maine too...which is kinda strange

Oh yes, and other things I found out at the concert...

-The weird part in "In Repair" is the pope saying a prayer in Italian
-Jeremy says Ahree draws scary monkeys
-Mike Eisenstein says I look like Prince William
-The snazzy intro to Starseed has parts of The Wonderful Future in it (according to Raine)
-Don't talk to Jeremy about Ray Kurzweil or you'll talk about robot sex...
-If you call Raine gay he tends to blow you off (some fat bitch did that)

why do they always play the same songs? I think they need to mix the set lists up between tours. That list is almost identical to the one that they played at Birch Hill in June. I want to hear some other songs!!!!!!! At least they are playing thief now.

OK, this girl was the typical wannabe punk. She had the really short black hair which was all messed up and was loaded with piercings. She, well, was quite rounded up and said the song "All For You" was either written by a woman or Raine is gay, which definitely upset the crown around her. Raine just looked at her and laughed, while the fans told her to shut up and get away...

If I ever meet this girl I will rip her lungs out and make her eat them
