I tried to plan the trip up, but since we're going to visit my parents earlier in the month we couldn't really manage both trips. Disappointing because we've been planning this trip for months before they announced the show, and I'd rather go to the show LOL

I'm going with the wife! Kiddos have a babysitter! Time to be young again. This will be my 15th show and first in almost 5 years! We'll see how the rain treats us.

First, I'm glad OLP played a longer set list than previous shows on this mini tour! They ended the show right at the 10 o'clock curfew. We walked in as Tonic ended and saw Collective Soul put on an energetic performance. I don't think I'll forget the white sunglasses to match the white outfit that Ed wore. The location was interesting for me, because it was in the parking lot in front of the Buffalo Art Museum. I was hoping they would be in the adjacent park on a hill, where they have theater shows in the summer, but I don't think the hill is big enough and they probably couldn't manage the crowd as easily.

It wasn't hard to get close to the stage and people were considerate and respectful throughout. This was completely different from when I first saw OLP in the 90's (granted I was a teenager and now I have 2 kids, so I'm old). The excitement wasn't there with Innocent being the opener (it might be my least favorite song), but I'm glad they followed it up with Is Anybody Home (I actually wrote an essay in college about the lyrics). Raine sang great with his falsetto's. Duncan was entertaining with his boot. Steve brought some great/new style solos to a couple songs. Jason brought a new feel to the songs, as Steve did back in the day. I enjoyed Drop Me in the Water and also look forward to a studio version to crank the volume! Following that up with Not Enough was a great choice. The remainder was solid and Starseed is the best closing song, no matter what!

Raine said they'll be touring in the Fall and will be returning to Buffalo! I'm pumped for some new releases and like Hugh said, an album show, followed by another set would be amazing.

Matt, glad you were able to catch a show!

I was there! Was surprised to not hear Naveed. Still a great show! Also was pleasantly surprised by Collective Soul. They brought the rock!

Yonderpjw9, thanks for your detailed review! I'm jealous you guys got an extended set list with some great extra songs.

The last half of this "mini-tour" are the type of concert set lists I expect from OLP. They played the hits everyone wants to hear and the hits everyone would be disappointed about if they didn't get played. Then the band added other excellent songs intense fans like us would enjoy. The key for me is the last half of the tour didn't have any copy cat set lists from earlier dates.

I often go to multiple dates of my favorite bands during the same tour. I splurge and always try to buy the closest seats on the main floor or risers to the stage. If my favorite band only tours once every 2-3 years after an album release, seeing one show in my hometown isn't enough. So when I buy multiple shows at the higher price, I need to hear changing set lists.

Of course, one will always hear repeats of the band's best, but playing some of the same songs in a different order helps make the difference for me. I'm a big The Tragically Hip fan. My wife & I have witnessed 100+ live Hip concerts since 1995. I have literally heard Grace, too played live or in my car or on my I-Pod a 1000 times. I never get tired of it and I will always want to hear it one more time. The same goes for OLP. I could hear Starseed or 4am a 1000 times, too. I'm gonna work on it.

I actually didn't get to catch a show on this tour. Leamington is a possibility but I can't say for sure right now. Glad you had a great time!
