Why has Matt Good gained so much weight?

Correct me if I'm wrong... but his Hospital Music album talks some of the stuff he went through over the last few years, something like getting divorced and discovering that he has some sort of illness... is that true? I wonder if all the crap he went through made him gain so much weight.
Since I haven't been in touch with much of the Canadian music scene lately, can someone clear this up for me.
And btw, does MG still get a lot of air play in radios in Canada, and does he still show up in MuchMusic and other TV channels anywhere as near as he did back in the early 2000?

he's getting older, metabolism and bone structure change over time... but mostly it's his addiction to eating lard with his hands.

hands? i heard he liked to swim in it...
also.. did you know the proper way to make poutine is to actually use lard for the fry making process? well the authentic/cardiac arrest in a bowl of gooey goodness method at least

Sorry, this is a really shallow post. I de-lurked to say that I don't care if he gains weight, or even what he looks like, as long as he keeps putting out amazing music.
For realz, yo.
Also, if anyone posted this about Chantal or any other female celebrity, the women around here would be all over it. What's with the double standard? Who really cares what they look like? Matt Good could come out in stage with a beer gut and missing teeth and I wouldn't give a shit.

i didn't really see it as fabio trying to take a stab at him. i think he was just curious and wondering if it might have had anything to do with what's happened to matt recently. it's really none of anyone's business, but i didn't see anything wrong with how he had worded it.
it's hard talking about things related to weight. if someone loses weight, people are always all "omg, how did you do it? you look fabulous. blahblah." and you never know, it could offend that person. on the other hand, if someone has gained weight, you'd never really go up to them and say like "wow, you've sure gained a lot of weight. what have you been doing?" cause people assume they'll take offense to it. i dunnnnnno. just what i think.

My family comments about how much weight I've gained every time I see them. I wish I had the flat rock hard abs I did 5 years ago, but I'm personally very satisfied being filled out now, as opposed to my hollow cheek bean pole look of years past.
In response to Fabio, Matt was officially diagnosed as being bi-polar a couple of years ago, and began receiving the proper medical treatment to deal with that mental health problem. This has likely helped him be able to stomach food, and helped him feel better over all. Healthy is happy! *rubs belly*

i obviously didn't mean to ask this question in a bad way or be rude talking about weight and things like that. I was just wondering because he has gained A LOT Of weight since the old Beautiful Midnight days... even from White Light Rock n Roll Review to Hospital Music. I was just watching his Alert Status Red and he's nowhere as big as he is lately... crazy stuff.
And yeah, I know lots of women like men with a little something to grab, aka love handles.
In any case... you guys have answered my question =)

yeah... I didn't think there was a problem with him asking. I was more offended by megan saying that it was a shallow post than anything. It seemed it was an attack on a valid question/concern. I noticed Matt Good's put on weight too... what if it was a health condition? No one said his music isn't as good, he was just asking about something he noticed. Fabio didn't insinuate it would affect his music or even his image for that matter.
I mean, for instance, has anyone noticed how skinny Seth Rogen is now? Just look at him in the trailer for Funny People. I'm sure he's getting in shape for the Green Hornet role, but it's an obvious difference.

He commented on that when he was on the Daily Show. I forget what the heck he said he'd been doing to lose the weight, but I do remember the conversation.
I know, useless post.

If you get offended by the fact that I think it's shallow to ask why someone's gained weight...well, that's a little sad Lando

It seemed like a shallow question. "OMG he's put on so much weight. Whyyyy??" Not that that's what he said or how he said it, but when people title things "Why has Matt Good gained so much weight?" that just ticks me off.
God, everything I say offends everyone around here.

I meant that it was more offensive attacking someone (your post) who asked a justified question, than asking why someone might've gained weight.
Also, the only thing that was a little sad was replying the way you did and words like "shallow" being misused and directed at fabio.
