It's not gone yet!
... though yeah, they are getting rid of it at some point. Yeah, here we go:
"The building will be closed and demolished following the 2008-2009 hockey and soccer seasons with the final planned event to be a concert scheduled for September 30, 2009; afterwards, the arena will be razed to make way for a new hotel in conjunction with the Philly Live! complex."

What the. I TOTALLY didn't type that smiley at the end of that sentence. Cos like... I don't care one way or the other, I was just surprised.
And, Sand, as I told you over AIM when you acted like I don't know the difference between the Phantoms and Flyers... duh.

You also don't know that Sand is a huge, and I mean huge Flyer fan. After all, Daniel Briere is a personal hero to Sand after all.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing them as I missed the last time they played here.

haha.
I'd just like to say that I love the way San Jose dominates the league during the season then implodes during the playoffs.

makes the shitty defence and performance of my team less disgusting.. i mean.. no team with the players that they do should ever be that bad. ever.
i feel bad for seto. he needs to be traded to the habs for a 7th round pick.
on a completely on topic note.. i'd love to finally see green day live. unfortunately none of those dates appear to be in "india" or anywhere near me

Ok with Philly
When did Spectrum become a Wachovia or whatever it is called. When I saw OLP play with Creed there it was First Union. I always call it Spectrum though.
Wasn't there another venue( a little bigger) next to it.. Been along time since I saw shows in the big venues in Philly.. Most of shows I have seen there recently have been the Tower or Electric Factory. Can not even remember last show I saw at the Spectrum.

I'm not sure when it changed, but it's been a few years. And yeah, the Wachovia Center is right next to the Wachovia Spectrum.

spectrum's been there since the 70s
the wachovia center = first union center
wachovia bought out first union hence that change.

There are actually 2 Wachovia places then. Got it.
I remember the Spectrum changed to First Union. Did not know it changed again. I also thought there was another Wachovia Center..
Weird that both places are almost the same name. I am actaully fed up with all the banks, fastfood etc taken over venues. There must be a alot of Wachovia this or Wachovia that around. A bunch of Fleet Arenas..It gets confusing. They keep changing the names. The venue in NJ is now called IZOD CENETER. It will always be the Meadowlands to me. When they change names though I always think a new venue opened up somewhere..
As For Green Day . I am thinking of joining their IDIOT Fan club. Only $20.00.. That is cheap. I also heard they are playing the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. I have no clue how you get tickets cause I missed the announcement on the radio. It is probably one of those win tickets only things. Interpol did that years ago.Depeche Mode did that. That seems to be the new thing now. Kick off the tour in a small venue before heading out on the real tour.
