Ok anyways, I figure im one of the only GnR fans on here, so I'll give everyone a heads up on what they can expect from Chinese Democracy, after listening to the recent leaks

1. Chinese Democracy (7/10)
2. Shackler's Revenge (6/10)
3. Better (8/10)
4. Street Of Dreams (8.5/10)
5. If The World (8.8/10)
6. There Was A Time (10/10)
7. Catcher N' The Rye (9/10)
8. Scraped (7/10)
9. Riad N' The Bedouins (6/10)
10. Sorry (8/10)
11. I.R.S. (8/10)
12. Madagascar (9/10)
13. This I Love (10/10)
14. Prostitute (9/10)

Averages to a 8.2/10

Impressions

First off if your expecting the old gnr, your going to be disapointed, but everyone at this point should be expecting something different. As a whole this cd has so much depth, with some of the best material written by the band, or Axl whoever you want to give the credit to. The songs that really shine on this cd are There was a time (my personal fav), and This I love, which is November Rain meets Queen basically. Its a solid mix of ballad esq songs, ala UYI's (Madagascar,This I love,Prostitute,Stream of dreams), some AFD type rockers (IRS, Scraped), and some completely different kind of music (Shacklers and If the World). There is really only 3 songs on the cd im not a fan of at all, the three lowest ranked ones, the rest are really top notch stuff.

There was a Time
Catcher in the Rye
This I love
If the World
Madagascar
Street of dreams
Prostitute

is some of the best stuff Axl has written, and personally id probably rate most these songs in the top 20 GnR songs, and a few (There was a time,This I love) in the top10.

Love them or hate this, this is an honest review from one of the biggest gnr fans on this board atleast. This cd isn't better then AFD, and UYI2, but it is one hell of a cd mind you.

CD RANK

AFD
UYI2
Chinese Democracy
UYI1
Lies
Spaghetti Incident

Also This I love is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in years

Is Axl's voice shit on the record? When they played the VMA's back in 2002 I felt really bad for him. In fact, Nikki and I discussed this just the other night. Too bad Buckethead didn't work out for them. He is a bad ass.

I still refuse to believe this is actually finished and being released.

What will be the running "*insert album name here* won't be released until after Chinese Democracy" joke now?

Everytime I hear of Axl, I automaticlly think of when Nirvana played "Lithium" (with the "Rape Me" tease to piss off MTV) at the VMAs, followed by Dave doing the "Where's Axl? Hi Axl! Hi Axl! Hi Axl!"

No his voice isn't shit lol, the VMA's were horrible site i'll admit, but his voice on this record at points is the best I have heard it. Buckethead also plays on like 90% of Chinese Democracy, so if you like bucket, he is all of the cd.

Uhh. Wow. That song was trying really REALLY hard to be "November Rain" and failing. Hard.

Seriously. Some of the piano melody was even ripped straight from NR and it irked me. Plus it was booooooooring.

Ugh. Sad.

I have to listen to the original masterpiece now and pretend I didn't just hear that.
