How the frig do we not already have a =w= thread on here?

I don't really have anything interesting to say, I'm just starting one because I am obsessed. So nyeh.

Anyone going to any of the shows on the upcoming tour? It's technically already started (in Japan). Sets are changing somewhat, based on fan input (much of which seems to be happening on the Weezer board I post on... I don't know why they listen to such mean fans ). It's shaping up to be a great show.

With ticket prices probably costing close to $50 per after Ticketmaster's ridiculous charges, I decided not to see them this go-around. Maybe if the supporting acts were better, I would've been up for it. But Tokyo Police Club and Angels and Airwaves? No thanks. If they play anymore Calfornia shows, I hope their supporting acts are someone I actually want to see. Before it wouldn't matter, but Ticketmaster are worse than they ever have been. I wish someone would kick them in their corporate nuts.

Heh, I know, right?

One of the two shows I'm going to, my ticket cost $83. It's in Atlantic City, which is always more expensive, but ugh.

And yeah, I don't think ANYONE likes the opening acts. Horrible. I don't wanna sit through that crap, but I'll grin and bear it for the weez. Actually, I don't know Tokyo Police Club, but still.

Don't know if you care, but in California, The Relationship is also one of the opening acts this tour. That's Brian Bell's other band. A lot of their stuff is very Beatles-esque. Here's their MySpace:

Unfortunately, Brian likes to not leave demos on the player very long... so there's only one there at the moment.

For the record, Tokyo Police Club put on one hell of a live show

Oh yeah? Maybe that won't be so bad, then.

But I've been linked to videos of Angels and Airwaves live and holy GOD that is going to make my ears bleed. I didn't think it was possible for Tom's voice to get more irritating, but it sure did.

Yeah they are just a whole band based on terrible.

I really don't understand how they are allowed to keep making music. And I listen to a lot of bad music.

 Yeah, it really should be outlawed. I mean, I usually really enjoy nasally singers, but Tom's too much even for me.

So I officially have my tickets for both shows I'm going to.

I won the Camden set from a radio station, sadly they aren't that great, but yay free! Problem is, Melissa has to work that night, so I now have an extra ticket. Anyone wanna come?

So uhh. I'm pretty sure I got Weezer to move their setlist around. Know how I said they're listening to fan input, and a lot of it comes from the Weezer board I post on?

Yeah, they do this thing called a Hootenanny. They play a few songs acoustic, and a bunch of fans come on stage and play with them.

Anyway, it was at the very beginning of the set in Japan, and I mentioned how it'd work much better as a first encore, then they could come out and do a second regular encore.

Last night, the US tour started in Boston, and they did EXACTLY THAT.

I am frickin' awesome. 8-)

OK, so I'm interested in hearing non-Weezer obsessed people's opinions of this. They played the Spike video game awards a few hours ago, and it was pretty wild. I dug it.

Enjoy!

I'd really like to comment on their performance but I....I can't get past the mustache. It's mesmerizing.

Haha, isn't it, though?

At one point in the past, he forced all of Weezer to sport moustaches. The dude's got a weird obsession with them.

Oh also, if anyone's interested, Weezer just (literally... it just came out two and a half hours ago) released a Christmas EP. Good stuff. They covered a bunch of the classics:

We Wish You A Merry Christmas
O Come All Ye Faithful
O Holy Night
The First Noel
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Silent Night
