Oh, also when you buy the box set it includes a digital download as well (I messed up and added both to my shopping cart and it kept asking me if I'm aware that I get a free download with the box set).

I think it's balls that i'm not allowed to just own a hard copy for less than 80 dollars.

If Radiohead needed the money i might pay for a download, but whatever.

You get to pick how much you spend on the download? What if I opted to spend $0? Would they let me do that?

Yes it would.

According to a press release today, a standard CD will be released early next year without the vinyls or bonus disc. I'm guessing that they are still working out the details and maybe haven't made agreements for distribution, but in the meantime they're excited about the new album and want to release it in these formats without any more holdups.

The checkout system will totally let you get it for free. But you might as well give them a few bucks! This album will be better than bad service at diners that you would probably leave a tip for anyway.

I'd also need to free up enough hard drive space to house the album...

And it would have cost me a whole lot more if the Canadian Dollar was back in its former puny state!

Ha!

:O

It's only 10 songs, so it depends on what bitrate they're using but this should probably be under 75 megabytes. You should really really really always try to have at least a few gigabytes to spare on your main drive (the one with your OS installed on it), otherwise you will most likely encounter major slow-downs when running any software.

Ah, cool. If i like this at all i'll probably go that route. I think what they're doing is pretty cool, just not a fan of anything being strictly digital.

I don't have enough GB to spare - my HD is only 10GB. So it's not like I can leave 2 or 3 GB free - I have music and programs on it :P But everything runs just fine.

I took a listen to the live versions of the new songs(again) and I'm even more eager to hear the studio versions. Its going to be sweet!
