lots of buzz about the movie since it's being filmed right now, and we're starting to see some marketing already (even though it won't be in theatres until next year). The movie's going to pick up where Batman Begins left off, with Batman pursuing Gotham's latest threat: The Joker.
A lot of fans have been wondering what The Joker (played by Heath Ledger) will look like. It was rumoured that instead of the clown-like comic book and Jack Nicholas portrayal, we'll be seeing a scarier grittier Joker. It was also rumoured that instead of Jack's perma-smile, the Joker might have scars across his face where his cheeks had been cut open (producing a huge sinister scarred smile).
Looks like that rumour was true, as the first image of The Joker has been released (via the clever
www.ibelieveinharveydent.com and
www.ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com advertising campaign):
I think it's going to look awesome. Especially once we get to see him acting more Joker-like, laughing and smiling. It's going to be insanely creepy and great.

that picture's a fake, it was found at "ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com," it's just a blank page now but if you highlight the black part you se "ha ha ha ha" written. there are also letters that don't fit into that and if you pull those letters out, it spells "see you in december." anyways, here's our first look at the joker.
these are official and the only pictures that have been released so far, the second picture is one of joker's goons.

It's been confirmed that that joker pic was real. Ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com was registered three days BEFORE ibelieveinharveydent.com (which is linked from the movie's official site). Plus, if you look at the first pic you posted, you can tell that they are using the huge cut/scarred smile.

I have to disagree with you, thie first site ibelieveinharveydent.com, was registered through WB whereas ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com was registered through godaddy.com. I can't see one of the largest corporations on the planet using godaddy.

however, you could be right because there seems to be a bit of a debate:

i guess we'll have to wait for the movie before finding out...or another picture.
hi sand:)

I think they went with godaddy either to spark up some debate or just to keep it a secret and let it be found by chance by fans and spread from there (there was never any official link to the site, but in another publicity stunt they littered a comic book store with Joker cards with "HA HA HA" written on them, along with "I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT TOO").
Also, seeyouindecember.com has apparently also been registered through godaddy. Now, whether they (or the same people) registered this one too, or if it was registered by some jerkoff AFTER ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com changed, I don't know. But it looks like this bit of marketing might not be over...
While there is still some debate about it,
www.batman-on-film.com claims it's real (after originally suggesting it was fake), and they tend to get their info from insider sources.

oh, and also from batman-on-film, this higher-res version of what you posted above does look an awful lot like the ibelieveinharveydenttoo picture:

after seeing the high-res picture, i think you're right. i heard about the joker cards in comicbook stores, they also spray painted the side walks outside some stores as well. this is some serious guerilla marketing for a movie that is no where near finished shooting.

yeah, for sure. they're stirring up a lot of hype really early on.
though, they probably had to if they wanted to be the first to reveal the Joker.
