Has anyone heard this album yet?
It's absolutely fucking amazing.
I love every song on the album.
I'm not even what you'd call a huge hip fan, more like casual, but this album is unbelievable.
Right now my favourite songs are The Drop Off and Last Night I Dreamed You Didn't Love Me.
Bob Rock is now cool in my books.

I dunno, I tried to get in to Tragically Hip but their songs just are not catchy and are pretty boring, kinda the equal to not having cable or an antenna and being stuck with that one channel that promotes a step so your dog can jump on to the bed, but made in to a musical album.

I've definitely heard the album, and I must say, I'm loving every song as well, wish I knew more of the lyrics though, but hey, that's never much of a problem as long as I'm enjoying the sound of it...
I was definitely going to post this exact same thread like yesterday, but, I got lazy.
Meanwhile, I definitely wasn't aware that Bob Rock was involved on the album, but doesn't matter to me, I love it (and The Tragically Hip) either way
My favorite songs though....Hmmm, I know I've been singing random bits from Yer Not The Ocean and Last Night I Dreamed You Didn't Love Me all day, but I'm also rather fond of In View, World Container, and Fly, but you know, that's just me

Okay, I agree, Bob Rock still killed OLP. Except he didn't take away any of Downie's cryptic lyrics, unlike Raine's. In an article I read, it said Rock just wanted Gord to explain them to him, which is a good thing because this is by far the best thing Bob Rock has ever produced... However, i'm not a huge Metallica fan, so others would disagree with me.

See, you don't get it. It's actually a law that if you're Canadian, you have to love the Hip. If you don't, well, castration happens. And no one wants that.

My uncle was one of those... poor guy. His religion is now some Tragically Hip religion that he made up.

Nah I love his lyrics, but then the music is boring and he kinda sounds cartman singing. I dont hate on people who like them, I got so much crap for liking olp in high school from people who were obsessed with Nickelback which made me want to take a out a golf club and go casey jones on them.

At least give the new album a listen.
The opening to the song "The Kids Don't Get It" reminds me a lot of OLP's World On A String.

I think some emo kids want that.

I think some emo kids have already had it done... Just look at how bad it's gotten.
