I got a second interview at Tip Top and the Gap just invited me in for an interview. Do you guys have any tips (that I probably haven't heard in Career Studies). Also, have any of you guys been interviewed with the Gap, Banana Republic or Old Navy and have any tips for me?

About a month or so ago, I had an interview at a movie theater. I didn't get hired. Last week I had an interview at Subway, and I did get hired. I barely did anything different, so I guess Subway was just more desperate for employees. Here are some tips, though you might have heard these before:
- Dress nicely. You don't have to wear a tie, but you should wear a dress-shirt, and probably not jeans.
- Firm hand-shake, with eye contact. I don't know how important this one is, but many people say it healps alot.
- Be confident. Sound confident. Speak up.
- Research a bit about Gap, or whereever you wanna work. The first question I got ask at my movie theater interview was "So, what do you know about this something something multiplex?" I answered ".... well, I know it recently got bought out by some American company (which it did.. i think), and, I know this place is of really good quality, compared to other movie theaters". Yeah, that was not the best answer. After my interview, I called my friend, who also had an interview and I told her about that question, so when she was asked it, she replied "oh, this theater has 4832 seats!" And the interviewer replied "oh really?!". She got hired.
That's all I can think of for now. Good luck.

We had did job interview practice in class last year.
My friend got asked what special qualifications he had, so he said "Well, I watch a lot of MacGyver, so I pretty much know what to do in any situation."
That'll totally get you hired!

Hahaha, that's gold. i've donea million mock interviews through career studies and co-op but all of my real experience with interviews had the interviewer distracted by my portfolio so they don't really end up asking me any questions.

I had an interview at the Gap and got the gig actually. For the group interview (if you have one) it's SOOOO important to just be relaxed. Dress like they do and be humourous. Look like you're having fun... try and look attentive to the interviewer too. After the interview I realized I had been giving them reasons why they shouldn't hire me... but the did... their loss =). If it helps... I've never shopped at the Gap before, hate the mall I'll be working at, and can't fold clothes.

don't tell off the dude interviewing you.
i had like 3 different interviews at old navy and i still didn't get the job. i blame the fact that for the first 2 interviews, i had the same guy who seemed to like me. for the third interview, i had some woman who was all bitter and such and looked like she was 12.

I really hope I don't have a group interview that would suck. I don't think I really stand out in a crowd, I don't think I do though. She didn't mention it.
