Fiona Apple/Damien Rice/David Garza Tour

35 date U.S. tour just announced. I love all three of them, so I'll definately be at the Philly show...well, Camden for those of you who are concerned about geography. Sucks that it's at the Tweeter Center, but oh well. Anyway, I got really excited when I heard that Damien Rice was playing with Fiona Apple in (I think) California when they announced that a few weeks ago...I was hoping for a full tour with the two of them, but I was losing hope since nothing more was announced or even (to my knowledge) rumored. David Garza is great too...I first saw him the last time I saw Fiona and immediately was a fan. Oh, I think Damien Rice is only playing about half of the tour...but he's playing Philly, so that's cool for me. Anyone going to get tickets?

Oh man...are they coming to NY at all? I've never had the chance to see Fiona live, this would be awesome!

I don't know where Wantagh NY is. If it's close, I might be able to swing it.

Dammit, the closest she's coming to me is NYC. I could go, if I wanted to take the train and get lost down there all day. I love the City. I could go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and wander around...but then I'd have to find my way to the venue and then back to the train station, and I'm hopeless with directions.

Maybe I can get my friend Jill to go with me. She knows the City like the back of her hand.

I was thinking of going to NYC to see the Streets because that's the closest they're coming to me (I'm about an hour northwest of Philadelphia). But yeah, that whole "directions" thing would probably get me as well...I probably wouldn't even make the show  If you know someone who knows the city and she likes Fiona, get her to go with you. The only person I know who is familiar with NYC is my great uncle (my grandmother's sister's husband...I guess that's my great uncle...I'm horrible with family trees!)...he lived there for like 10 years or something. Something tells me he wouldn't be up for a Streets show though

My dad said he might go with me, if he has to go down for work that week :D Otherwise...blah. I'll have to find someone else.

That would be great if it works out. I've seen her once before and she's great live...maybe even better than on CD. I hope it works out for you!

Better than on CD?
I love her CDs. I love love love her.
It really would be awesome if I can go, because she hardly ever tours, especially not somewhere "close" to me, so yeah. It's like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.

I love her CDs too, but I think she was even better live. I've only seen her one time though, so I can't be sure if that was a typical show. I think she might start touring more in the coming months/years. She hasn't toured much until now since the release of Extraordinary Machine because of legal issues with Sony. Now that (apparently) everything is worked out, I would imagine more touring in the future. Then again, I can't be sure that that is the case, so if you could see her this tour, I would definitely recommend it!

That's cool that Joel is playing with him. No Lisa though! The last time I saw Damien, he was like "Yeah, Lisa couldn't make this tour, but she'll be along next time." Looks like he's been telling fibs! Did anyone ever hear Vyvienne do Purple Haze solo? She did it when Damien played at the Troc in Philadelphia...I don't know if she does it a lot...it was awesome. And yes, I *am* on a first name basis with these people

I think I have a bootleg with Purple Haze in it maybe.
