criminal charges?! for putting up boxes?!
wtf?!
I mean, clearly any object or toy that pops up in your neighbourhood that wasn't there yesterday must be a bomb. There was a tricycle on its side at the bottom of my street the other day - I bet it's really just a complex disguise for a pipe bomb. Damn crafty terrorists!

I agree. I'm going to take a bunch of boxes home some night from work.

Did it take anyone else like 5 minutes to figure out what the hell they were talking about though?
Maybe I'm just dumb, I don't know...but the page just starts talking about these girls getting charged because the bomb squad had to be called in and I was like "wtf, is Alex on crack?"

Did you read the news reports?
They left these boxes around town and people thought they were bombs and called in all sorts of g-men, and even though the girls immediately turned themselves in and explained it was street art, they were considering charging them with god-knows-what, probably under anti-terrorism laws.
My favourite part in bold:
McCoy said even though no harm was intended by the girls, they could face criminal charges for their actions.
“The potential is always present when dealing with a suspicious package that it could be deadly,” McCoy said. “In today’s day and age, you just cannot do this kind of stuff.”
In addition to Ravenna police and the HAZMAT crew, assistance was received from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Kent Fire Chief Jim Williams, Ravenna Fire Chief Geoff Cleveland and Mark Griffiths of the Portage County Emergency Management Agency.
McCoy said the incident will be referred to the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office for possible charges against the girls.
Seriously reading about this actually made me sick. Although I do love what the original artist made for them: another box, with 5 coins coming out of it, and this inside

they obviously shouldn't/won't be criminally charged, but somebody will have to pay for the bomb squad and all that other crap. they shouldnt have turned themselves in.

how about the people who called the bomb squad? make them pay the fine, and then make them purchase a SNES.

See? This is what happens when people watch too much 24 and then blame video games for violence in the media.

Wanna know why people hate the United Stated? This MIGHT help explain why. For such a 'civilized' country, they sure know how to NOT have fun.

I like that idea

Maybe that would be a good way to decorate my new apartment!

Hang a row of boxes in your hallway. You just know you're going to hop around your apartment bopping them

Ooh that's cool - we have rows of track lights in the hallway, so they'd be easy to hang!

you could probably set up a simple spring release system that would shoot giant coins out the top, too...
