They released E and F yesterday for London - woohoo :) There were only 2 seats available in E, and I had them, then got locked out and when I got back in I could only get F. So Sandy called the venue, the lady couldn't find the E's because they hadn't been dumped back in the queue yet... so she kept refreshing and grabbed them (I was doing the same thing on the computer but she got them first! :D Yay)

Uh oh, all I need to do now is get a car so I can actually drive to Kelowna!

Now the only question is whether I should get:
a) old beater used car (~$2000)
b) 5 year old used car (~$10,000)
c) new AWD Car (which I will be paying off over 4 years)

Get something reliable enough to get you there without breaking down!

It will be used for getting to Kelowna, but the primary reasons why I will be getting it are so I can get to work easier (though still continuing to carpool), for summer trips to Vancouver/Kelowna/other places, getting around to go golfing or swimming or such.

Well, if you can afford it, I say go for the new car. It'll last you longer (hopefully).

I've had a lot of used cars and never has it been worth the repairs and headaches. I'm so glad to finally have a new car.

The thing about new cars though is that they depreciate so much in the first couple of years, even driving them off the garage forecourt takes a lot of their value away. Other than my first car which I inherited from my mum and was kind of older, I've always had nearly new cars - my current one was 18 months old when I got it, and I've barely had to do anything to it. New tyres last winter, new brakes while it was being serviced this year and then the stupid indicator thing the other day. If only I weren't spending all my money on travelling to north america repeatedly I might look into replacing it some time soon.

I think I read somewhere the cars in the first 3 years, depreciate 30% each year.

Therefore, making 3-5 year old cars the best deal. These are difficult decisions!
